Do you find it hard to reason with staunch religious people?

Some people believe the Bible is 100% accurate, yet they question documented history simply because it isn’t mentioned in the Bible. It’s hard to reason with people like that.

Religious debates are tough and that goes beyond Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Try having a conversation with a militant atheist.

Not nearly as hard to reason with those who don't use reason, aka libtards

Yes, but I tend to be more direct.

For instance, I know that "reason with" is just code for "you're wrong".

It's not so much a debate about religion, it's just their worldview. There is no gray area with them. It's 0 or 100, nothing in between.

Some people believe men can become women.

Spare me the lectures about which side is unreasonable.

Christians embracing Nazism as a political identity tells me all I need to know about modern day religion.

Not really.

One of my cousins is a nun and another is a priest. I'm agnostic. We have some of the best convos about religion. They aren't the "everything in the bible is 100% fact" type, though.

I find it hard to talk to straw men.

I try to avoid them. I see a propensity for obesity, poverty, a yen for fairy tales, folks putting what few bucks they do have into little wicker baskets being passed around. Anyone who thinks the earth is 6,000 years old is extremely low iq.

1 .Listen
2. Don't be combative
3. Don't insist you are right
4. What's your motive in talking with them?

I find it impossible to reason with staunch anti-religious people. Religious seem to want to talk. Which is reasonable.

The Bible doesn't say that Jesus went to the bathroom but I am pretty sure he did.

I don't know any religious person that thinks that way.
Certainly, document history exsists, and continues to exsist, outside of the Bible.

I’ve had really great discussions with devoutly religious people. The people I avoid are those who know very little about their religion beyond that it’s correct and that anyone who disagrees is stupid/lying/evil.
