The low end is 700. It depends on how many kids the ghetto queen has.

Back in the 80's the minimum for Food Stamps was $10, but with enough kids you could get over $1,000. That was just Stamps, not all the other programs. So, 40 years later a couple thousand would not surprise me. Damn we don't spend that much a month. I must be doing something wrong.

It incentivizes poor choices such as single women having more kids because you’ll get more money.

Studies have shown that EBT card holders spend outrageously more money at the store than your hard working, tax paying, non card holder.

Matt’s monologue today nails it down.

This system is beyond flawed.

What the Fed programs don't guard against is Daddy works at the plant as an operator making good money while "unwed" Mommy lives at home, files for all the programs, (sec 8, all food assistance, utility assistance, Medicaid, and anything else they can).

Outsmarting the system

That is probably pretty low and per person.

You don't need a study to show that.

Imagine the government giving you $1200 in food stamps, $2000 in housing, free health care, free education, free phones, internet, pocket change to buy your vices, etc and you still bitch about the politicians because you don’t get enough.

I had a neighbor / friend that needed a ride to the grocery store.
Didn’t know she had a snap card
She wanted to go to Winn Dixi, half of what she bought was cheaper at WalMart

First & last time I took her & she moved a few months later

Horse shite. When Mrs. Axe was a GM at a chain store, she could see the amount on a SNAP card when people came in to pay for groceries.

A poor family with three kids was getting $2000-3000 a month on their SNAP card.

At one point in time, whe Mrs. Axe and I first got married, we combined households to have five kids total in our home. We fed ourselves and the kids for $600 a month of our own money when our combined gross income was around $70K/year. But trailer trash Nancy and LaFawnduh from the south side of the tracks have three kids each and they get thousands of dollars. For nothing.

You wanna spend a long time being pissed about how unfair and ridiculous that shite is? Put yourself in the shoes we were in. Those same moms who don't even work, also somehow qualify for a $10-12K tax refund every year, which they completely blow through in less than a month. Yeah, there's that.

We worked our fricking asses off to stay away from EVER needing "government assistance" while our overtaxed asses ultimately paid for people who are irresponsible and lazy. We need to permanently cut ALL benefits for well over half of "qualified" recipients. Period.

...sorry for metaphorically weaving a tapestry of profanity over this thread, but this is the one topic that REALLY pisses me off and I struggle to maintain my composure.

Fraud with a capital F. I want to know if there is anything in common American society that that incentivizes good behaviors and choices?

It's a system that scales based on how many kids are involved. Decades ago, women discovered if they get knocked up by as many guys as possible and have as many kids as possible, they can receive a helluva lot more resources than people who work 40 hours a week.

They even learned how to finesse the system to get even more. It's why most of the women who take the welfare career path will never be married and will never take any of the baby daddys to court for child support. Because if they are married or if child support is taken officially, they'll receive less government benefits.

One woman who doesn't do shite, with 8 kids, will bring in more than a lot of households that have three or four 40 hour workers, when you factor in section 8, and cash benefits.
