With it looking more and more apparent a guy like sumrell isn’t going to get a serious look I think Kenny dillingham would be a fantastic hire

He’s young (only 35)

Full of fire

Grinder in recruiting

Completely turned around Arizona state

If we want to get a proven coach whose also a young up and comer , dillingham is your guy

Feel like there is a decent chance he ends up as the desert version of Harsin.

Arizona State is his alma mater

I think he would only leave for the NFL

Honestly, I don't know much about him. Any SEC links? That's not an absolute dealbreaker but it can definitely be a plus.

I would take him. But he's at his alma mater. He was born and raised in Arizona. I don't see him leaving the situation he's at.

Dillingham is from Phoenix.

He went to ASU. His wife went to ASU.

I'd look at it is if it were academics.

Someone from New Orleans. Went to Tulane, family went to Tulane. Now they are the dean of the college where they majored.

Harvard/Princeton/Yale comes calling. More money. Way more prestige. Career advancement, etc. Do they leave?

and even at 35, he isnt an inexperienced 35

2007–2012 Chaparral HS (AZ) (QB)
2013 Chaparral HS (AZ) (OC/QB)
2014–2015 Arizona State (OA)
2016 Memphis (GA)
2017 Memphis (QB/TE)
2018 Memphis (OC/QB)
2019 Auburn (OC/QB)
2020–2021 Florida State (OC/QB)
2022 Oregon (OC/QB)
2023–present Arizona State

Has been the OC at some big time programs and in the SEC, thats a pretty impressive resume for a 35 year old. He would be towards the top of my list if he wasnt a ASU guy since birth. If we can pull him from there he would be a good hire.

Culturally its an odd fit.

They made the playoff last year and his recruiting class was 46th in the country. Its currently 41st.

I think its fair to question if he is a product of Leavitt and Skattebo

I think he has an odd personality that might not go over well with fans, boosters, and recruits in the south.

This is foolishness, if we want Dillingham he is ours. He’s not staying at Arizona st bc it’s his Alma mater when a top 3 job in the country comes calling.

He’a coordinated in the SEC and at other big schools, he knows what lsu is. I think outside of lane, he’s got to be one of the top candidates

and Saban lost to UAB and LA Monroe...people who use one game to argue against a coach are dumb.

Thatd be my pick if we struck out on the big names. Hes a young energetic coach who's as proven as one can be at 35.

i could see that but he was one of the best recruiters in the country when at memphis, auburn and florida state and even at oregron but kind of hard not to be there. He was the #1 recruiter in the nation at memphis

now i dont know his personality so you very well could be correct.

and yea he may a product of Sam and Skat but he is who got them there. Not like they were on the roster. I mean Skattebo was at Sac State for gods sake and wasnt a ton of P4 programs beating down his door.

just like Kiffin gets credit for finding Chambliss...he should get credit for finding those two.

Yall got to stop with this stupid shite.
Saban lost to UAB and ULM. Great coaches lose games occasionally. Losing to a Willie Fritz led team isnt an unforgivable sin.

Okay, he also lost to powerhouses Houston and Utah this season. He’s had one good season in his career.
