What becomes of the coaching search if Frank Wilson leads LSU to victory in that remaining games, which would include wins at Bama and Oklahoma? As the former head coach at UTSA with a ton of history with LSU and the undoubted love of the players, you’re going to be hard pressed to push him aside.

The question is, if he were to pull that off, would the fan base melt or embrace him were he named HC?

LSU’s record is 9-3

New coach is hired the week after the last game.

Masterful move by the admin not making Baker the interim coach so we don’t have to have an actual controversy in the event of a strong finish, which is possible.

They knew you retards would be clamoring to hire the completely unqualified interim coach in probably the most pivotal year in the history of our program so they made Frank interim because he’s unhirable due to his track record. Thank God. He’ll get his due, his associate HC title, and stay on board, and the cries to keep him as HC will only come from the dumbest of the dumb.

no you’re not.

As I said yesterday, it would be an awesome way to end the season with some positive momentum for the next regime.

And that will be the end of it.

He gets a congratulations, a thank you, and sent back to RB coach or a role under Austin Thomas

He gets a big job somewhere else. Then eventually comes back to LSU when he fails.

He becomes head coach and LSU wins the national title in 2028.

Seriously, I think he would probably get another crack at a g5 head coaching job if LSU finished 4-0. At this point in his career, I am hopeful he's happy being LSU’s running backs coach and the new coach keeps him on.

Absolute melt. A new coach can keep him around as a recruiting coordinator or director of personnel or something, but he has been miserable as a head coach miserable. Why would you do that? Why even ask that my brother?

I can’t see it happening even if he wins out. Orgeron did well as interim and was loved by the players too. Sure, that lead to a championship but let’s be honest. That team was more of a perfect set of circumstances and luck than any coaching skill from Ed himself. We want someone who can actually replicate that success with some consistency. Not who will win a single championship because they got lucky one year then completely fall apart immediately after.

He probably earns himself another HC job at some mid-major again.

Coach 0 was 10-28 at Ole Miss and considered a perfect fit back in 2016. It only matters, if it matters.
