Submitted without commentary…

quote:

The governor made the announcement in a post on social media Monday night, October 27.

“We’re here on campus, next to Mike the Tiger, and we’re going to put a challenge out to the LSU Board of Supervisors to find a place to put a statue of Charlie Kirk to defend the freedom of speech on college campuses,” Governor Landry said. “Come on, ladies and gentlemen. Let’s see if we can be the first campus to do it.”

He has to. It’s all he has for republican voters. His actual actions are always cutting the knees out from potential rivals on the right and giving money to democrats to keep them from opposing him too hard.

"Hello Voters,

Jeff Landry here again to attach myself to some topical social conversation that might elevate my brand as I hope to jump into the next Republican presidential primary. At the least, I can grab a cabinet position out of it."

I think it’s a great idea. I’m sure it will trigger the democrats who celebrated Charlie’s murder.

Kirk needs a statue on every campus to remind people what liberalism leads to.

This is even dumber than shipping a live tiger from Florida so we could have a fake Mike The Tiger on the field last year.

Just extremely disingenuous, does Landry’s communications team not advise him better?

While i didn't care for a lot of his messaging, he should've never died for it. That was such a senseless killing. Those celebrating this are despicable. If universities choose to honor him in other ways fine, but a statue is a bit much especially on a campus where statues built are of those who have actually contributed to our campus. Hell Burrow and Jayden dont have theirs yet.

I think there are more pressing matters where the funding for this needs to go first.

Polls have shown a majority of today’s democrats polled believe political violence is justified. So basically a majority of Democrats polled are fine with conservatives getting killed.

Yeah, of all the things this state needs this is not one of them and I'm a Charlie Kirk fan.
Landry is a one and done Governor.

Bad timing, Louisiana Voters too busy arguing if Kiffin or Coach O gonna take the LSU Football coaching job in their man caves.

In just the past four days:

Tweets about LSU season ticket prices
"Heavily" involved in the Brian Kelly situation
Calls on a statue of Charlie Kirk to be placed on LSU's campus

Almost like he IS thinking about those poll numbers released last week that his campaign put on a full-court press calling fake?

Triggering libs isn’t a reason to do something stupid

How is it stupid?

We put up monuments to other civil rights activists. Why not Charlie? He fought for free speech on all college campuses nationwide.

Zero chance. They're tied at the hip.

I had hopes for her. I did like her. But she's now 100% with Gov. Landry in supporting the trial lawyers like Carmouche suing oil & gas companies across Louisiana for billions of dollars.
