He Could've Just Fired Sloan. CBK didn't want to be here anymore.

If he was really committed to staying here, then this should've been a no brainer.

I think he clearly had no interest in moving forward with us and used this as a way to leave. He also knew damn well that Sloan would be fired before we ever let go of Brad Davis.

This definitely wasn't just LSU telling CBK to frick off.

His sideline behavior was that of a man completely checked out. Every bad play you go cuss out an assistant? Thats what terrible bosses who never come in to the office do.

I don't think he wanted to be here either. He knew he wasn't going to win a championship here.

I agree. He knew this was the one shot to win it all. And when it failed he was out because he has $50m in guaranteed money. He’s 64. Why deal with the rest of the contract and rebuild after blowing your load this year.

We’re retarded.

Perhaps Sloan was still valuable in some way & made to look worse via Nuss handcuffs. Perhaps Kelly realized this & felt responsible.

Just speculation, I know nothing.

I’m not in any way suggesting Sloan is a good OC, but he did some good work with a few QBs here and even if just optics, it’s something.

imagine we would’ve been a lot better on offense without dinged up braindead cement feet shittitude under center.

I personally felt Sloan was trying to make some sort of statement by calling a middle of the field pass on Van Buren’s very first snap.

I’d be a huge and uncaring a-hole at work too if I had $55mill coming to me for getting fired.

I could almost believe that.

Likely hated the fan base. Hated the weather. Hated the grind.

It’s easier to just say “F you” to the boss and give him a reason to fire you, get a nice check, and head back north.

If you listen to Hester and Flynn talk about “setting up plays”, you’d quickly realize the majority of the offensive woes were due to really poor scheme ran by Sloan.

It seems that he was mailing it it to me. Again, to give him that contract was supremely stupid. Thanks, Scott. It'll be some years again before the program is relevant.

That value ran out when Bryce Underwood signed elsewhere.

I agree. He seems like a quitter.

Finished 11-1 at ND in 2021, still didn’t make the playoffs so he quit & left for somewhere he could win it all at

He truly believed this was his best roster yet at LSU & got his arse kicked so he decides to quit bc he can’t win here either

Aggies turned it around, we can too. NIL makes it even easier than ever.

Then why all the indulgence with the Burger King’s timeline? LSU has a real leadership problem. That much is evident to anyone paying attention. It has been 6 seasons since 2019. The program has done squat in that time. One SEC championship appearance. That’s it. Is that the expectation from 10M dollars a year?

Omg. Keep up.

Kelly went in Sunday morning prepared to fire Sloan.

Before he could do so, Woodward fired him. Many within the organization wanted Sloan gone much earlier & also wanted a change at QB. Kelly said “no”.

I agree, but here is my question.

If Scott told him to fire Sloan and he said no, is that not "insubordination" and LSU could fire him for cause?
