Yeah letting players pick their buddy to be HC is a great idea

If you listen to the players your NFL team would be led by Shedeur Sanders at QB1 with Colin Kaepernick as backup

Hiring a coach with zero college experience and not even a full year as a coordinator in the nfl is something Southeastern would do, not lsu

He’ll soon be a HC in the NFL. He’s not going to be a college HC

The interview would need to be heavily scrutinized. I'd want someone in there who knows football better than Scott Woodward. I like the idea but I'd want to hear his plans for his coaching staff. Idk what kind of connections he has at this point in his career to bring in qualified assistants without just bringing in a bunch of former teammates

Hood coordinates get moved pretty quickly to HC in the NFL so yea I could see 1 to 2 more seasons as a good DC before he gets a HC position

Yea he's moving up very fast. He has to be very impressive for the lions to keep promoting him that quickly. And look around the NFL: it's not the tiger rant. They don't give a frick about HC experience. They're hiring younger and younger HCs every year

Yes soon. Look at that rise. He’ll be a head coach soon enough

The hype around him is legit. What he is doing isn’t by accident. He’s a great guy and a legit coach.

It's something the NFL would do. Maybe LSU should rethink things after Kelly

Eta: to show my work. The first one I can think of was John Harbaugh having never been a coordinator of HC before. Mike Tomlin I think only had 1 year of DC experience for an example on the defensive side. Dan Campbell is a more recent example with no prior HC or coordinator experience. There are several who only had 1 or 2 years. Demeco Ryans is another defensive example

Yep another good defensive example. Funny how experience doesn't matter to the NFL like it does to LSU fans. We're too good for that apparently

Well even McVay took 9 years and 3 as a coordinator before the Rams made him a HC and that was pretty historic.
