Police Presence on Saturday…

What do you think, did it make a difference?
I think it did. I didn’t see many youngsters walking all around campus looking for trouble and causing problems, no stench of weed in the air everywhere. Traffic was smooth on the way in, on the way out doesn’t count due to everyone bailing out early. Honestly the campus felt safer and less tense. To me at least

IMO the weather had more to do with it.

The rain canceled my tailgate party as I assume it did many others.

Arkansas game is early game so I still won't know how changes worked...Western Kentucky game will likely be lightly attended.

Didn't smell weed in the stadium, just on the walk to...
Left @ the end of the 3rd.
Other than the cursing and bitter tears, it was SOP.

Why? We didn't come up with the term.

Fair point.
Can we just say "youngster"? Will that become verboten, too?

I walk and tailgate around areas that had “turned”..
So from firsthand experience .. yes it was a Hugh difference .. I know exactly which fraternity was a problem child in the enchanted forest and moved to unity field to add to their problems … . LSU does also and addressed that head on directly.. they also fixed the other problems just off campus around circle k that had been growing over the years and happening all year but not bring corrected … until this weekend .. the merchants had previously been complaining.. did not go by unity field.. but on my path to the stadium this is the first time in years and years I did not smell weed and walk through concerning groups..
Law enforcement was spread out and groups of officers ( saw a few packs of six together) were walking around clearly showing politely they were there and no messing around..I heard they had a few crowd control horse patrol in area. Also hade them on bikes.. inside the stadium they were there as always but even more..
The city/state/LSU.. took this very serious and a little preventative planning really impacted the problem..
Please keep up the effort.. they are appreciated!

Stadium was fairly full at the start of the game, FWIW.
They let the band play more so much less shitty music from the PA.
I didn't see the blue shirts doing in-stadium security, more uniformed officers.
Improved experience, IMO.

This was an interesting sight and welcome, in my opinion. LSU tailgating is such a good time and the environment truly needs to be preserved.

Much better in-game experience with piped music and band between plays.

Can someone answer this question for me.
At some point was there a change in music rights that allow stadiums to only play certain songs?
If you listen to music played in stadiums, while watching games on Saturday, it seems like they all play the same songs.
I don't understand why stadiums would be restricted. If I was a musical artist, I would love to have my music played in stadiums.. But I am only assuming its a licensing thing as to why the music in stadiums seem limited.

My buddy and I set up our tailgate right before the rain started. A lot less people walking around for the 5 hours before the rain stopped. After the rain passed it was still pretty thin, but everyone seemed to get to campus around 4ish.

My drive to my tailgate by the Indian Mounds was a lot quicker. Driving down Dalrymple, if you did not have a parking pass, the police would route you down E. State St. so much less traffic between their and my parking lot. Also, at Highland, they just waived me on past the barricades and I did not have to wait on the light.
