LSU is at its best when the head coach is a dog defensive coach. Sheppard is doing a phenomal job with the lions as DC, bleeds purple and gold. Fran brown won 9 games at Syracuse last year, knows how to recruit and also brings an attitude that this staff lacks .

I love Fran but he's also gotten the shite beaten out of him a couple of times this year.

For sure he def has but he’s at a talent limited program in Syracuse. Their season prob looks a lot diff is Angeli doesn’t go down. Ricky collins is atrocious.

We’re not hiring a guy in Kelvin Sheppard who has 5 years of coaching experience

You gotta take a risk. Did Kirby have much head coaching experience ? Or Ryan say ? Or maecus freeman? The up and comer is the way to go. Brian Kelly had years of winning at notre dame didn’t mean a damn thing here

Shep has 5 years TOTAL coaching experience. His first job was in 2021.

All of those guys you listed had a decade + at least

if the he was Kelly and Syracuse was Notre Dame, this is a replay of 2021.

Stop thinking LSU is magic for coaches. Kelly couldn’t win shite at ND and nothing changed at LSU. If Fran can’t have adequate talent at Syracuse to not get the shite beat out of him, he can’t do it at LSU either.

He had 11 years of coaching experience, 12 if you count a year as a GA

Kelvin Sheppard is an interesting choice. He’s proven he can coach NFL defense and if I’m not mistaken he has been on LSUs staff in some capacity before.

He’s a young guy that players can probably relate to, especially in the semi-pro NIL era.

That said:
1. he won’t even get a look as long as Woody is AD. He seems to like spending big money on a name without figuring out if that person can coach or not.

2. Sheppard will likely get offers as an NFL head coach soon. Does he even want to coach college?

Lol. Fran Brown is the wrong color, but I root for that brother. Remember the Titans, Coach Boone couldn't lose a game, if he loss, they were going to fire him. It would be the same scenario in BR.

If Sheppard continues on his current trajectory he may be the guy in 5 years or so, but too little experience now.

We have no idea of Sheppard can run a program, there’s a big difference running the show when it’s all on you, we can’t afford to find out he can’t handle it after this fiasco

The paranoia and insanity of Fran Brown paired up with the LSU fanbase.
