Realistic LSU HC candidates

With what it would take to buy out BK, we may be on more of a budget for this search. Add that in with Penn St and Florida having a head start on their searches and we could be looking at up and comers.
Who are those guys right now? Who is the next Dan Lanning type?

There isn’t anyone that just stands out. SMU can pay to keep their coach forever. And I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone wants Kiffin here

Yeah, it would have to be a heavily incentivized contract. The 100m guaranteed contracts lack motivation. I don’t think anyone would be against upwards of 10m a year for playoff wins. Nobody wants a 10m/year coach to go 5-3 and miss the playoffs every year.

What about Buster Faulkner? GT OC and he wants to be HC. He was Monken’s right hand man at UGA during the 21-22 National Championship run. Used to be OC at Southern Miss so he has recruited Louisiana before. Also, if (big if) Monken gets canned in Baltimore, he could come be OC.

Wiping out BK and his staff will cost what, $80 mill? You guys think that LSU can cough that up *AND* hire replacements?!? I never wanted BK in the first place but you have to look at the financials and realize this doesn't make financial sense at all.
