Defense can't handle mobile QB's and has looked like shite. Is it him? Scheme? Players?

All of the fire Kelly, get rid of Sloan, how are we feeling about the DC?

I’m honestly torn.

I like him and think his players enjoy playing for him.

But his inability to stop a mobile QB is concerning.

I like him if their qb is in a wheelchair.

I thought the defense was fine until the last two games. Now, I think a lot of the players are making business decisions.

He’s in a tough spot, he has an offense that doesn’t help at all .

That always makes a good defense worse. I obviously don’t think this defense is as good as we thought, but it’s also not as bad as it currently looks. The offense has ruined this team

Makes good calls a lot of times but players are incapable of executing. Should probably be more aware of his personnel and make the calls accordingly. Decent DC with a bright future but part of BK’s loser culture.

Not good when you look at how it stacks up to the rest of SEC.

His defense is aggressive but reckless and undisciplined. It doesn’t show when we face a pocket passer but the reckless blitzes and risks he takes that leave open voids gets utterly exposed agaisnt a mobile qb. His lack of adjustments and trying something different against qbs that can run is infuriating.

You gotta 10.3 100 meter freshman lb on the bench watching your defense get run all over by a qb, hell last year you had a sideline to sideline menace in Xavier Atkins whose a star for Auburn on the bench watching Milroe and Reed run all over you. You have guys on paper who can spy on the qb but baker doesn’t give them the opportunity to do it. He lives and dies by his scheme and doesn’t make any changes or adjustments when it’s not working he’s a one trick pony

Mobile QBs are a concern. I'm curious if the issue is more about fatigue because the offense doesn't do much of anything. Kind of a 2018 Jags situation, dominant defense and Blake Bortles at quarterback.

If you can't stop a mobile QB in 2025 then you're useless.

He's shown no ability to adapt and figure it out.

It doesn’t help when you have players like Harold Perkins running half speed while live play is happening.
The first touchdown by Reed, Perkins not once tried to catch him from behind. He fricking jogged 5-10 yards behind him. He should’ve been benched

Well said.

Add in human nature of “frick this shite” when the offense hasn’t helped at all in games you’ve played well in and I think some of the Defensive players are checking out.

If you’re facing a 1988 NFL offense and Randall Cunningham isn’t the QB, his defense is sound. Otherwise, you have problems against offenses with a pulse.

With Weeks out the LBs are being exposed, especially Perkins, he has to be as dumb as a rock. Offense going 3 and out almost every possession doesn’t help either.

He had a few key players clearly quit on him. And spread it to their buddies. If you don’t think Perk is a cancer in the locker room, don’t know what to tell you. He quit, and took his D buddies with him.

His scheme is overrated. Too much aggressiveness that can be used against you by competent offenses with mobile qbs
