My fellow ranters. I never thought I would say this in my lifetime but what about the head coach from Tulane? Just throwing it out there for opinions. It would seem to me he's a lot better than Sunbelt. Billy and seems to have a more proven track record. Might be able to get him for a cheaper price. That way we can afford the buyout on Brian Kelly again. Not saying I'm all for this. Just want to see what some of you fellow ranterswould think about this? I believe even earlier this season Lane kiffin was quoted that John sumrall who coached under him as linebackers coach at 2018 would be coaching somewheres in the SEC next year

He fits the profile for sure. Under 45, up and comer building a smaller program into a perennial playoff contender.

I dont understand the hype. Fritz built the program into what it is today.

Not always. Look at Willie Taggart, Scott Frost, Chris Peterson, Sunbelt Billy, Turner Gill.

You don't know until you take a chance. Saban wasn't always Saban. Corch Irving Meyers started at Bowling Green.

With the money for staff and players just no more ridiculous contracts for these HC’s.

True, but Sumrall also went 12-2 & 11-2 at Troy, turning that program around immediately upon taking over.

He then did a pretty darn good job handling his star QB from last season being bought from him before even the AAC Champ game (so much for no tampering), and has Tulane currently 6-1.

I'm not saying he's who LSU should throw the checkbook at, but I don't think he can be disregarded as just riding the program Fritz built.

Just the ability to recognize and change his offense in 6 weeks to adapt to his new QB is saying something.

He looked at his personnel and developed a plan with what he had available. He has two big RBs and operates the offense around what he has.

I enjoy watching em.

I would take him. He knows the Louisiana recruiting landscape. He will get an SEC job in next 1-2 years

Hell no. We aren’t a proving grounds. That’s a 50/50 proposition at best. If we’re gonna throw massive numbers around, we deserve a proven coach. Give me Ryan Day and let’s throw the whole world into orbit

Frost was a one year wonder at UCF. Taggart is taggart… no explanation for that one. Summerall or Keys establish and recruit.

He would be one of my top 2 choices. I know everybody is in love with Kiffin, but that’s going to be a $120 million plus contract. Go for the young guy who will sign a shorter contract for $6-9 per year. If they work out you have a coach for 15+ years maybe.

If we can do it with consecutive losing seasons as cause to let him go with a heavily reduced buy out.
