" i don't know how many times i have to say it but I will NOT be the next coach at Alabama".

on a serious note though he is done. You cannot afford to take off years like others have done......at his age. he retired at 72. he is about to be 74.

I know it won’t happen but imagine if Saban came back and finished at LSU

if it was still like before with no NIL and no transfers sure. he can coach at right now. he is in great shape for almost 74. it was looking like he woulda ended up like paterno and bowden had NIL not ruined it for him.

It’s because LSU hasn’t called yet.
He wants to retire where his success started.

I was blindly hoping that technically LSU job is not up for grabs so he is only shutting down Penn St, Florida and the other schools.

Maybe if LSU becomes open officially then he could return.

NIL and Transfer portal will settle down after this December thanks to the work he did w Trump. So there is room for him to return. It would only cost this season.

I want to first say that I do not think Saban is going to coach again. But, if memory serves, LSU had pretty much decided to go another route after Dinardo, but that fell through, and they circled back to Saban. In the interim, he told his team that he would not be taking the LSU job. Then he kind of snuck out in the middle of the night, if what I recall is correct. My memory is always suspect, however.

“No way,” Saban responded. “I have so much fun working with you (directed at McAfee). Why would I go do that?”

Just what we need, a 74 year old.

This is the answer to me. NIL is in the process of changing. The 2026 season will see the return to the “old ways” in my opinion. Maybe he will come back for a few years. I believe top talent would line up down the block to play here.

I don't remember this. Emmert wanted a splash hire and knew the value of a potentially great LSU football program to the University.

Through back channels, Saban was the one everyone promoted, saying this is the dude you need to hire. Emmert (Dean-reluctantly) offered him a $1.3 million contract.

I member berries being on a different board before TD was a thing and the board went pay. Saban hire was intentional by Emmert.

This is hilarious bro. It's amalgamation of Miami to Alabama and Baltimore Colts to Indy.

I know you meant it intentionally too.

Too old . Isn’t he 73 ??? He co-hosts College Game day , has car dealerships ( I am told ) ,
no real reason for him to earn more money , with more stress than he will ever spend ! Did y’all ever consider this ???
