Bin Laden did more harm to the US recently than someone in the 1940’s

So why isn’t OBL the big boogeyman in our national consciousness?
Why are there 1467 movies about WW2 Germany (and counting) and very few about Al Qaeda?
Could it be manipulation by entertainment media? Perhaps they don’t want everyone thinking about by OBL too much. Dunno.
Side note: Considering how our country decided to radically change itself after 9/11 it could be argued that Bin Landen was one of the more influential individuals for America.

WW2 Germany is a far more compelling story. Western Civilization at war with itself.
It sounds like you are hinting at some kind of conspiracy and I don't bemoan your curiosity on this one bit.
But from the entertainment perspective it's simply a matter of material. There were some really good movies made about the war on terror. Zero Dark Thirty stands out for me.

The long term effects of wwII were way more consequential even to this day than OBL.
It allowed us to rebuild Europe which if you think about it a huge advantage to this day. We were also allowed to station soldiers etc.
WWII was our gateway into a Uniglobal superpower position.

Well, they didn't "know" shite because they was "doing" shite. They actively infiltrated as many areas as they could with their leftist bullshite, found useful idiots and let that cancer metastasize over the decades. Even after the Soviet Union fell, the cancer is still eating at the body of the U.S. from the inside out.
