We mistakened Nuss to be a QB to build a 18 mil roster around

He wasn't worth it. We had best passing OL in country last year, and he averaged 7.7 YPA. While that isn't bad, it isn't really good either. The 4,000 passing yards is a byproduct of finishing 2nd in FBS in passing attempts. If you finish 2nd in passing attempts in the country, you should finish 2nd in passing yards. That'd make you an average QB. A good QB finishes ranked ahead of his passing attempts in yards.
Although the defense struggled immensely in getting Vandy off the field, I can't put blame on them as you can't have an A game every single damn game on Defense. Offense has to pick it up once in a while, and have yet to score more than 24 points vs an FBS team in 6 games is god awful. We just need a completely different QB, OC, and HC.
We may not be good again until 2028. That'll be Peyton Houston's sophomore year, and I truly think he will be great with how video game like his numbers are.
We're backed up into a corner, the only thing we've yet to try different is a new QB. We have absolutely 0 chance with Nuss at QB to make the CFP. His stone legs and absolute refusal to get outside the pocket is such a massive liability. A normal QB foresees a pocket collapsing, and runs outside it. Nuss just stands there, then moves at 3 mph when he's about to get sacked. A normal QB would have 70+ rushing yards a game for LSU with how wide open the run lanes are on passing plays. He's just flat out a 7th round/UDFA QB. OL was really bad vs Vandy, but Utah St put up 35 on Vandy. Average QBs with LSU OL are putting up more than 24 points.

You are not wrong, but it is also inexcusable to have this poor of an OL in Kelly’s 4th year. I personally believe that is where the problems begin this season. But yes, Nuss is underperforming and was overvalued this off season

The mistake was spending money on Bauer Sharp and Nic Anderson who have contributed next to nothing for the offense instead of spending the money on more help on the OL.

Nuss is the only returning 4k passer this season. He can throw the ball. Something changed from last year.
A. His o-line got significantly worse
B. He’s not fully healthy
C. Both
If we have the o-line of last year, our offense is probably light years better.

And to hear him say "these are the guys we have" like he inherited them.
You built this roster you red faced little frick. Who you have to play with is 100% on you.

Here is what changed from last year- Nuss got paid and all the hype got to his head.
His lazy arse seems to have regressed on the mental side of the game more than physical.
Sloan's play calls are shite, as we know, but Nuss's reads on just about all of them are so bad. It's like he just doesn't give a shite and pre-determines what he is going to do presnap.
He needs to be stripped of #18.

Nuss is a bigger problem than Sloan if you listen to Flynn and Dickson after they review the film the biggest issue is the QB and his decision making pre and post snap reads

And forgot to mention, replace OL coach Brad Davis too. Need 4 complete different people at OC, HC, QB, and OL coach for any chance at CFP

While all this is true, it is disappointing that a Fifth year QB doesn’t appear to have addressed any of his weaknesses.

mobile QB + bad OL = ok offense
immobile QB + good OL = ok offense

BK rolled the dice with Nussmeier. Like he does with all of his major decisions. It was clear that there wasn’t 100% confidence in his abilities. He objectively single handedly threw us out of some games last year.
But the waters were muddied by the fact that we had an out to blame it on… lack of a running game, abysmal C play, etc.
I believe the logic was we surround him with talent, acknowledge him as the bonafide leader of the team with #18 and maybe he will close the gap and live up to the potential as seen in practice.
But the truth of the matter is it’s always been between the ears for Nussmeier. So no matter what you do, you can’t make it click for him.

OL is as bad as I have seen at LSU. Bit it's all the QB's fault.

Nuss has definitely regressed from a year ago.
I know, we need to be able to finish drives and get TDs. But the offense actually did ok this past game; better than ok if you forget "Vandy", and just consider it was on the road against a ranked team.
But the defense was trash that game. I get "not having your A game", but you still need to get SOME stops. This game was basically over the first time we didn't get a TD, because we never slowed them down.

Bingo. College football success requires a mobile qb willing to run when needed. Even with a great O-line you still need a qb to run to get the occasional first down especially with DB's whose backs are to the line of scrimmage and wide open running lanes. The qb doesn't have to be Jaden Daniels good but needs to be willing to run and a good runner.

Nuss can't read defense.
