I agree that DC needs an entrance monument. I see no downside to this.

That isn't sarcasm. If this is paid for by donors and is in a grand scale. Then go for it.
I was in DC a few months back and I got around on a rented E bike and crossing from Arlington to the mall there is nothing. An entrance arc would fit in.
Dedicate it for the 250th anniversary.
What say yall?

Im all for it - especially since its already been dubbed the Arc d' Trump
That said, Id be shocked if DC and leftist judges aren't able to block, stall, delay it for years if not decades. If they can stall it until either DJT or JDV is not President it will never be built.

We used to build real art like this, now the only “art” we build is from liberal blue hairs who contribute ugly “modern” art that a kindergartner could make.
I support this, especially if it is funded by private donors. Anything to make DC more beautiful

Between this and the WH ballroom, I love that Trump is putting his mark literally on Washington. Classic architecture. Love it.
And it is a nice spot if you find it on the map of the city.

The ballroom isn't the only update. Trump has introduced gold accents in the Oval Office and Cabinet Room, lined the "walk of fame" with portraits of former presidents, including a photo of the autopen representing former President Joe Biden's time in office, added stone pavers to the Rose Garden lawn and installed two 88-foot flagpoles.

I'm sure he could get ATT, Verizon, etc. to pay for some of it if they're allowed to hide a cell tower inside.

Creating something beautiful to celebrate something you're proud of isn't a waste of money. Was the Statue of Liberty wasteful? Was Mt. Rushmore wasteful?

It’s because I am poor, because I think government should live within its means, because I oppose interventionism abroad, and I want the U.S. to build roads and bridges more than monuments purely for show.
I hate modern architecture, and I think classical architecture is much better aesthetically. However, our country has serious infrastructure and financial issues. We shouldn’t be spending any money we don’t have to on anything that doesn’t offer some serious return on investment for the taxpayers.
It’s the same reason I want mass deportations, I want ending of wars abroad, and I want to gut the living hell out of most government agencies: they’re expensive AF.

Donated

Paid for entirely by private donations.
I like nice things, but taxpayers are paying for a functional government, not a wasteful show piece.
If all of the money to pay for it is coming from private sources and all the government needs to do is donate land they already own, then I don’t have a problem with it. I just believe our government has bigger problems than building more random pretty monuments in a city full of pretty monuments.

I live here and it's a terrible idea. First of all, there's about 200 entrances into DC. Why single out just one entrance? Second, traffic is already bad enough. We don't need anymore construction right now.
