Lebron wouldn’t have been able to handle the 80’s and 90’s ball.

Guys like Rodman, Oakley, Laimbeer………. would have had him curled up in the fetal position. Not just them, the whole league was tough. I watched some old Bulls videos to reminisce and it got me thinking about how Rodman would have broke Lebron mentally very quickly.

That era of basketball was terrible. I’ve watched so many boring highlights from that weak arse time and nothing impressed me.
Ooohhhh MJ dropped 42 with a 5’10 white accountant guarding him wooooooo
So tough that they would punch you in the face when they got beat to the rim. So skilled

I honestly think LeBron wouldn't be nearly the same player and maybe even person he was in the 80s NBA. He would have actually used his freak body to physically dominate those dudes, and it would have been really fun to watch. But by the time Jordan was styling in the 90s, that level of physicality wasn't nearly as much.

LeBUM wouldve cried after taking an elbow to the throat! Those guys where built different, they knew, and expected, to be bruised and posibly bloodied after the game, and they didnt complane one bit!

I don't think the OP is saying LeBron couldn't physically handle those guys. He's saying LeBron couldn't mentally handle those guys. If you dropped him in as is, sure. But, if LeBron grew up at the same time frame as those guys, he'd also not be an emotional pussy. But, he probably wouldn't be the physical specimen we see today either.
In 2025, a 2 way player from the g League and NBA has a personal trainer, dietitian, etc. If you gave every player from the 80s and 90s the science and food science that guys today have, they would all be completely different specimens.
It's just one of the many reasons you can't compare guys in different eras.

He probably would have been able to and not turned into such a big bitch unlikeable douche boy. He would have had to play basketball like everyone else and would be better for it.

Did you know that NBA players in 1986-1987 season were the tallest all time at 6' 7.2" average height. And if height was so important for modern NBA, why did a 5'9" midget like Isiah Thomas almost averaged 30 points a game during Lebron's era.

LeBron’s biggest contribution to the NBA is popularizing throwing yourself to the floor like a bitch and pretending you’re actually hurt at the slightest contact.

Lebron is the size of Karl Malone but much more athletic. He would've destroyed those guys then they would've fouled out cheap shotting him.

Late 80's/early 90s Pistons and Knicks were some of the most physical teams and MJ's rise went directly through both.

He’s a big baby. It’s not his size that would have limited him, it’s his mentality.

I don't agree with this. LeBron would have been fine in the '80s and '90s. You might not like him, but he's all-time great player and would fit into any era.

If you gave LeBron a modern coach and modern training and put them in the 1980s, they would dominate for 30 minutes a game every other game.
