If you are reading this board, you owe it yourself to travel internationally

Doing so can give you some perspective on the US and help you more easily see the good and the bad in this country. And prove or disprove your assumptions.
I even encourage you to visit somewhere abroad that you think you might not like just to see if what you been told about that place is true.
Domestically, many of you criticize California (and often with good reason). But how many of you criticizing that place have actually been there to see it yourself? You might be right, you might be wrong about your impressions.
Back from the drift above, seeing other places and staying outside of the US for a while makes it harder for the Left & Right power brokers to manipulate you. IMO
I even encourage you to visit somewhere abroad that you think you might not like just to see if what you been told about that place is true.

As someone who traveled internationally to multiple countries, including developing ones, I am thankful to God for His common grace given to this nation to prevent it from being as bad as it could be at this time.

I have been to California multiple times. Overall it sucks. People suck. Beaches suck.

lol it's not like California is a super exclusive place that hardly anyone has been to. i'm sure tons of posters have been there. it's pretty, but it's a liberal shithole. what are we supposed to take away here from you and your extensive travel?

Been to California many times and it’s great outside of the big cities but the big cities dominate politics. San Francisco and LA are as advertised; San Diego and the mountains are beautiful

Been to Londom on an extended stay for months.
Tons and tons of muslims. No desire to assimilate. Heard celebrations and fireworks going on a 9/11 anniversary.
Paris (also an extended stay) was pretty good but that was a long time ago

With limited funds and time off for most Americans, going to a place one thinks he might not like doesn't make sense. I'm not going to risk ruining a vacation by being miserable in a foreign shithole for a week. Do I really need to go to India to figure out I don't like watching people shite in the street? That just sounds like virtue signaling to me.

I’ve been to a lot of places. I love California’s weather and natural scenery. I didn’t like much else about it.

This. California is a whipping boy for Southern Conservatives to shite on, and most of it is well earned.
But spend some time in Yosemite, Carmel, Big Sur and you will change your mind real quick.
I'm thankful I don't let politics dictate my travel plans. I feel sorry for the small-minded people who do.

Traveling/living internationally is a great way to gain perspective. I've done it my whole life. That said, we also have books, videos, data, statistics etc. I don't have to go to Sierra Leone to know it sucks.

I traveled to lots of places internationally when I was younger. I was always happy to be back in the US.

I've often cursed Atlanta and its traffic. Several years back I visited a friend who is a missionary in Honduras. Armed guards in grocery stores, anything not nailed down getting stolen, ten year old children with no teeth because Nestle convinced these people that their sugar baby formula is better than breast milk, a main highway thought the country with holes large enough to swallow a car and if you wrecked you had a better chance of being killed for whatever you had in your car than an ambulance showing up, etc. I could go on. When I got back home I wanted to lay down and kiss I85 and to feel how smooth it was. Even the things we hate are the envy of 99% of the world.

It does give you perspective and I have done enough travelling and living abroad to know that the United States is essentially the best nation on Earth, and therefore have no desire to travel or live abroad anymore.

I once had to spend a couple of days in Port Moresby, New Guinea. I imagined beforehand that New Guinea would be a shithole. Guess what? It was a shithole.

I have been to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other locales in southern California on numerous occasions over the last 25 years; most recently this past March. I hate both places with the burning passion of a thousand burning suns.

I went earlier this year. LA is a shithole with the exception of Beverly Hills.
