I am trying to get ahead of my Widows Peak becoming worse and while it's already started, i'm hoping I can limit the amount of forehead exposure! Anything out there on the marketplace that will help restore the hair. I am not noticing chunks of hair coming out so I'm thinking they are just slowly coming out, which may be a good sign. HIMS has a product they are claiming can help and it contains Finasteride and Minoxidil.

Anyone in here had success with the Widows Peak and controlling it?

Finasteride and dutasteride are DHT blockers that work by blocking DHT from affecting DHT sensitive follicles.

Minoxidil stimulates growth in the hair follicles.

They work, but finasteride and dutasteride can have some nasty side effects.

Would it be better to just take Minoxidil then, if that's even a solo option?

I got a topical from Hims with minoxidil and finasteride. Have been using it for about 2 years and everything has regrown. No side effects. Super easy

Will any of that facilitate new hair growth? I’d like to face more facial hair

Start with the Minoxidil/Finasteride topical... the side effects, if any, would be less likely than with pills... and if you DO get side effects, simply quit using it. They'll go away quickly.

Hims has a finasteride & minoxidil combo spray that both stops the loss and promotes growth. It is really best used early on to stop the progression because once you are too far gone then it isn't worth it

Finasteride and dutasteride will actually hinder facial hair growth, but yes, minoxidil will stimulate beard growth.

A year ago I finally admitted that my hair was seriously thinning out on top and in front hairline. I wear my hair long-ish so I could hide it, but I didn’t think it was gonna get better.
A close relative who is in the hair business recommended a product called “AG Pro” that you can get on Amazon.
I’ve never had any kind of product I’ve ever taken work as well as that did. Not only has my hair on my head thickened and no longer is going bald in spots, but my eyebrows have come back and all the hair on my legs came back along with my arms. Even my upper legs and upper arms has grown hair that I had when I was very young, but has been gone for a long time.
It’s about $30/month. I was told it would take a full bottle before you started seeing results. I don’t recall the timeframe, but it was very quick.
I even grew a full beard, which I had been unable to 10 years ago.
I’m 68 years old.
I highly recommend this product.

Yeah, well I’m sure I’m getting the red dye from other sources as well, but I can tell you I am very happy with my full head of hair and all of the other hair, especially my eyebrows.

Good Luck!

Just do what i did. Two years ago I went to Istanbul to see Dr Gur. I paid less than 5k total, including flights and food. The results were pretty really good and worth the money.

My receding hairline isnt too bad and has been holding mostly steady for years...but unfortunately the topical finasteride gave me the dreaded dead dick for a while. Thankfully it goes away when you stop but I am just gonna have to live with the hairline

For the VAST majority of people who get side effects, the side effects do go away after stopping the medication, but there are some people with whom the side effects became persistent/ chronic even after stopping the medicine.

I think the risk is very low, but still a risk one should be aware of before starting the medicine since this is really just cosmetic and the side effect is so severe.

MCT Oil, particularly Lauric Acid has been shown to be a natural DHT blocker. I don't know how effective but could be a natural option for someone having side effects. I take MCT but looking for some with more Lauric Acid.

Minoxidil can have some pretty bad cardiovascular side effects too. I'd be interested in trying topical finasteride but it's hard to find any that doesn't already have minoxidil in it too

Yeah when I say "im scared of finasteride" its because ive seen that im a bad responder. Id tell anyone to try it first for themselves. I havent heard that about minoxidil but ill take your word for it. Im probably gonna try non-medicinal methods as my hair really isnt that bad.

I've been looking at the ingredients and L-Lysine and L-methionine are the two active amino acids in AG Pro that may promote hair growth. I can find those inexpensively and with no Red #40 or other bad stuff so I'm gonna give that a try. Thanks for the heads up on this.
