Another innocent life lost in the FQ

Another day, another killing in the French Quarter at the hands of some young entrepreneur who's a good kid, just runs with the wrong crowd etc etc.
8pm on a Thursday.
I don't know if I'm willing to risk my life to visit New Orleans any more.

When the murders were localized to NOLA east and really only impacted gang members, NOLA was fine in the commercial and historical areas. The spread of the crime to the FQ and other historically safe areas is why people are now fearful despite the violent crime numbers being roughly the same.

Need national guard in FQ and CBD to protect tourists.
Rest of city can rot
Rest of city can rot

It boggles my mind that Democrat mayors would rather let the rampant crime and slaughter continue in their streets than admit Orange Man Bad is right and accept his help in the form of National Guard troops.

I only go to the airport now.
So much potential. Destroyed and wasted.
Now just…

What are the odds the carjacker is a repeat offender who should be still locked up?

New Orleans is gross, easily the shittiest major city. It’s about the only place in the US where I felt a little unsafe at times.
As a lover of fine dining and historic architecture, New Orleans is such a shite hole that I don’t care if I ever see it again.

I thought the whole unofficial agreement was violence is allowed in the shitty areas, but dealt with extremely harshly in the nice areas? Why are we paying for all these handouts if violence is still going to occur?

Glad we took those statues down !

I cannot wait to move out of this dump.
The worst part is that Nola is the best thing here. The rest of the state has ZERO redeeming qualities.

Y’all know that New Orleans is on pace for a 50 year low for the murder count, right?

You don’t know your arse from a hole in the ground.

You may get downvoted or dismissed as merely sarcastic, but your irony is on target.
Sacrificing historic art to appease the historically ignorant leads to criminals and grifters feeling empowered to exploit what they correctly perceive as a weak citizenry.

If there is something worth seeing in the rest of the state then I am all ears. I drive through lake Charles once and thought it was depressing.
Baton Rouge would be Jackson Mississippi if it didn’t have the university.
Weather is arse.
Landscape is arse.
No outdoor activities to do but walking around the lafitte swamp and hoping you don’t get a gator bite. Also this swamp tours that tourists get scammed on. Who wants to sit out in the heat full of mosquitoes where you can’t even swim.

We need to start killing career criminals. Three offenses and you get a firing line.

It used to boggle my mind too, but once you filter everything through the foundation of progressivism and being a modern democrat is that you mist have mass victimhood.
Democrats have no moral compass and only react on emotion. They are enslaved to their government only because they are a perpetual victim which gives them free reign to take out their mental illness on those around them. Misery needs company.

Quick description of Burgundy street from the French Quarter official website:

quote:
Burgundy Street is lined with the down-home essentials that make the French Quarter livable. From parks to bars, Burgundy Street is the place to go if you want to live like a local.

As Oilfieldbiology said, in the 90s, when the murders were confined to the projects, nobody cared. The French Quarter and other areas were "relatively safe".
Now, the crime is everywhere. Nobody is safe anywhere anymore.
That is what makes it worse.
