It was only a matter of time before the New Orleans Saints started to receive trade calls about some of their top players. While many have connected Saints players like veteran running back Alvin Kamara with other clubs, nothing substantial has been reported about teams actually reaching out to the Saints. That is, until Thursday.
quote:

Per 93.7 The Fans’ Andrew Fillipponi, the Pittsburgh Steelers contacted the Saints during their Week 5 bye to check in on the availability of wide receiver Rashid Shaheed. Another host from the same station had previously reported that the Steelers had reached out to the Saints about a different wide receiver, Chris Olave, this offseason. The Saints reportedly rejected that trade opportunity, but could possibly be more easily convinced as the trade deadline approaches and prices for acquiring players begin to rise.
But any team trading for the Saints’ current leader in receiving yards would have to take on some financial investment in the process. Shaheed entered the 2025 season with a $4.45 million deal. The Steelers, or any acquiring team, would have to take on the bulk of that deal in a trade. Shaheed is in the final year of his contract. I say keep Shaheed trade Olave

Give me a second rounder and he is gone. As much as I like him, he has been the guy that is supposed to break out in the last 3 systems, and outside of a few deep catches, he has been mostly invisible.

You may trade for Chris Olave and only Chris Olave. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

No sir. Sheed is a QB away from being a top 5 deep threat.

You won’t get enough compensation for Shaheed to justify trading him imo. Teams will call on him bc he’s in the final year of his deal and those guys generally come cheap

The chances the Saints can keep him are slim.

I think it’s very good. The money is there for a number one. Sheed is the very last WR we would lose. Draft a top WR or two. That’s cheap for four years. Grab a first round TE in the next three years. There. Easy lol

Retarded

We need to keep young talent if possible

This isn’t the NBA where the team will actively gut the roster for 3 seasons.

Definitely keep Shaheed and trade olave.

The offense is going to be even worse without olave but you can find a playmaker in the 2026 draft.

How much would you be willing to pay a guy like Shaheed?

Bleacher Report has a few of our guys on the block

Alvin Kamara for a condition 4th round pick

Chris Olave for a conditional 1st round pick

If someone offers us a first for Olave, we should be wrapping him up in bubble wrap and shipping off on the first flight out

I’d take any offer for Olave.

No good at that and the way the market is for WRs which is nuts at this point no clue. But they know lol. I would make him the highest paid on the team. Trade Olive if a deal is there. Sane FAs, bench and draft.
I mean the range for a lot of top guys is what? 20-30 mil per? In that range spitballing.

PS
extend early
Don’t be a jerry and always wait…then pay more.

If you can sign olave for Jameson Williams money, you do it. But if not than I think you have to see if someone will give up a 2nd
