The Carolina Panthers were loaded at QB in 2022

The Tampa-Seattle game was a lot of fun to watch, especially since both QBs played great. A mistake by Darnold and late game heroics from Baker were the difference.

A lot of people criticize the Browns for letting go of Baker, and blame the Jets for nearly ruining Darnold instead of developing him.

However, why do the Panthers get a pass?

They had both guys on their roster just three years ago. What did they do? First they released Baker during the season, then they let Darnold walk in free agency.

Next they traded four draft picks and a 1,000 yard receiver (DJ Moore) so they could move up to the first pick to draft Bryce Young.

Matt Rhule, Steve Wilks, Frank Reich, Save Canales, I don’t know how many general managers and offensive coordinators they had since then. That organization is a mess.

Trading up to get Bryce young was absolutely insane.

None of those people are/were the problem there. The problem is David Tepper and they will suck as long as he owns the team.

Panthers allow 2 NFL starters to leave so they can trade four draft picks and their best receiver to move up to the 1st overall pick. Only to draft the worst starter in the league.

Definitely one of the all-time worst decisions in NFL history. At least Sam Darnold and Baker ended up in better spots.

Even hindsight, trading him was the right move. The crippling move was taking Bryce Young.

Not only the QB fumbles, Panthers have the worst talent in the league overall. GMs can't wait for Young to be processed out of Carolina.

It wasn't even a mistake from Darnold. His pass deflected off of someone's helmet. More like bad luck. They were both lights out yesterday. One of the better quarterbacked games I've seen in a long time.

Your average drunk college football fan knew Bryce Young was not going to be a good NFL QB.

These NFL scouts/GMs try to be too clever.

To be fair, not sure either guy would have had the career revival they’ve currently having in Carolina. No one really batted an eye when they moved on from either, so unfair to judge in hindsight

Bryce isn’t awful but he’s definitely not the type of prospect you give up the world for, especially considering the roster was mostly crap

Carolina wastes and mismanages more talent than anyone in the NFL and has for at least 15 years.

Also the same year they traded one of the best RBs in the last decade in October
