What "New" technology was your family very late to adopt?

We didn't get a microwave in our house until my grandmother passed away in 1990. She had one that must have been from the 70's it was a massive piece of equipment but that thing worked forever.
Our family never got a blue-ray player, we stuck with DVD.

Never got one of those "smart" speaker things, but it seems that is no longer even around much these days

I have 3 brothers and a sister. So, I would say birth control.

Not necessarily new but a lot more accessible (can buy one in a Home Depot): a bidet

We never had a dishwasher (no mom jokes) in the house I grew up in. I don't think my parents had a DVD player until around 2000-2001. I didn't own an internet capable computer until my second year in college in 1998.

Still don't have a computer in my house.

We didn't have a microwave until 2000 and a computer/internet until 2002.
I no longer have a computer in my house unless I bring my laptop home from work.

My dad got an iPhone for the first time a few years ago, I’ve had one since the original in 2007
He is absolutely addicted to it. He watches TikTok’s all day and takes a break by watching YouTube videos on his laptop
He’s basically an iPad kid at this point

luckily, my dad (d. 2022) loved technology and gadgets of all kind so we had computers (Mac) early on. we had microwaves and (gasp) a fridge that dispensed water and ice in 1971.

We had dial up internet until I was a junior in high school. I graduated in 2007.

My old man was always an early adopter.

I graduated high school in 1999 and that was the year they finally got a satellite dish. Up until then it was 3-4 channels on an antenna. To this day, my parents still don’t have internet other than my mom’s iPhone.

Don't think my family was ever late to adopt technology, think we were the first family in our neighborhood to have a PC and a HP LaserJet 4 printer in the early 1990's. Wore that printer out making banners in Corel....
