I can see the levee right now. Levee Police are a joke. They need a SWAT team for a hurt biker, runner or some kids smoking weed next to the river?

James Robert Scott (born November 20, 1969) is an American who was convicted of causing a massive flood of the Mississippi River at West Quincy, Missouri as part of the Great Flood of 1993. Scott is currently serving a sentence of 20 years to life in a Missouri prison.

quote:

....uthorities on both sides of the river joined federal authorities to investigate the case. Their investigation eventually led to Joe Flachs, an old friend of Scott's. Flachs told authorities that Scott had told him he had broken the levee so he could strand his wife, Suzie, on the Missouri side of the river. Suzie worked as a waitress at a truck stop in Taylor, Missouri. As the story went, Scott wanted to be free to party, fish, and have an affair. Investigators subsequently found other witnesses who said Scott boasted about breaking the levee at a party after the flood. Based on this evidence, Scott was taken to Missouri for trial in November 1994.

They dont even do that. Kids and adults have been zooming around on motorized bikes non-stop.

I was told by an officer if the ebike had pedals is ok. No pedals and they stop you.
Yes way too many Tuttios on trails now.

As to their funding: Legally can they levy taxes?

What about dykes, what is their position?

Cause the English, French, or Spanish might invade again.

I get the need to train and develop officer skills, but this idea didn't come from a sharp tool in the shed. Should be audited.

My office overlooks the levee. All I ever see levee police doing is driving slowly on the paths or parked doing nothing.

Well they shouldn't be using their own weapons. Should be issued.

This is a sign the proliferation of SWAT teams has gone too far.

They sometimes respond to accidents on River Road, but that's LA State Troopers job. I see JPSO, Harahan, State Troopers and Levee police every day on River Road. The ridiculous crossover is a massive waste.

They arrested some guy who was digging and replacing his plants in his own backyard at toe of levee, a couple months ago. I'm sure he went irrate and did something stupid to get arrested but thats how it all started anyway...
