Would have a great game but was just as capable of having a bonehead game.

I doubt many on here would know that name lol. I remember the name and knew he played QB. Dont really remember his playing. Just knew he wore #5 and handed the ball off to Dalton Hilliard.

Also was the QB for Georgia in the movie "Everybody's All American". The one who fumbled at end of game when Quaid character jumped over the line.

Is he still involved with Shipyard Supply at all, or did Singer completely buy him out in that deal?

Reminds me of Jamie Howard...elite arm but extremely careless with the ball.

Of course, for whatever reason, Nuss seems to be missing the elite arm this year. Maybe it's injury, maybe it's Maybelline.

Not a bad comparison.

Wickersham succeeded Risher in '83 and started '83-'85. We went 4-7 in '83 due more to inexperience on D but Wick made his fair share of blunders. For example, trailing UF 17-24 we were driving late to tie the game when he threw a pick-6 to Wilber Marshall. We lost 17-31.

OTOH, Wick never got credit for some comebacks that didn't happen. We tied UF 21-21 in '84 because Betnazos missed a short FG late and similarly in '85 when Ronnie Lewis missed a short FG vs Bama.

The '85 season would be an apt comparison. Weak OL, strong D, good skill pos players, and an experienced QB. We went 9-1-1.

If memory serves, Wick always threw 6 ft. over the heads of all his receivers. He was very consistent about it.

Don't know whether Nuss reminds me of Wickersham or not. I just wish he had an offensive line in front of him like Risher had. THAT would make a helluva difference for Nuss in my opinion.

Oh man the memories. That guy could have been legendary if he didn't throw so many interceptions.

No. Jeff Wickersham was more consistent, by far.
