Speaking to reporters in Toronto, Ingram said the Raptors’ consistently sells out Scotiabank Arena whether the team is doing well or not is, where the Pelicans have long battled to fill Smoothie King Center.

Brandon Ingram should really worry about getting his touches in Toronto. We've moved on. He should as well.

I think Chris Paul is the only former player to talk good about the city after they left

Toronto and surrounding areas - 7 million people. Only NBA team in the country.

New Orleans and surrounding areas - 1 million people. City shares with more popular football team.

This isn’t rocket surgery to figure out why 1 team can sell out even when bad and the other does not.

He was asked since he has been there for about 6 months what the most impressive thing about Toronto was and he praised the fan attendance night in/out. Said it was different than New Orleans.

It’s not a shot at all.

It's crazy, his attendance was worse than the fans. Maybe if his attendance was up and other injured players, the fans attendance would be where it should be.

For sure, new employee says there are more customers here. Back to camp action for game week.

The average yearly salary in Toronto is $62,050 and the average household income in Toronto is $121,200.

The average yearly salary in NOLA is $32,271 and the average household income in NOLA is $55,339.

It will always be tough for New Orleans to support a team that doesn't make themselves worth seeing.

Ehh the crowds were definitely getting better, week day games vs garbage teams were starting to fill up

The problem is that the star players, Ingram included, being in street clothes every year will lead to disinterest in fans.

Nobody wants to go spend their money when the “main attractions” are never in action

Torontos population and market dwarfs new orleans. Of course they will have better unadjusted attendance. It doesnt matter what the players or team do in new orleans, if our goal is to match the magnitude of Torontos attendance, it's not happening, it's math.

The smoothie king center was full when they won and went to playoffs though, so its all good, new orleans will attend with the best of them per capita when the teams are winning.

Theres nothing offensive to me from the quote, he was asked a question.

The SKC was pretty full when the record was abysmal, the attendance certainly was better than the record the few games I went to this past season.

That said, he didn't take a shot, he was asked a question about something different, he had to choose something that was different between the two that was better in Toronto.

He played in 18 games last season, none in Toronto.

He missed 64 games, most of that was due to an ankle sprain. He is the softest player we ever had, and is officially a top 5 worst contract in the NBA. Good riddance. .

Watch the attendance this season with the keys in Zion’s hands instead of your ballstopping arse.

ETA: Look at how motivated Zion is not having to come into the season playing Robin to BI.

Most cities have bad attendance when the team is tanking just look at Philly when they went through the process or OKC the 2 seasons after they traded CP3

There is no margin for error with our poverty city and franchises. Ingram speaks the truth and what he left unsaid is no player wants to work in NOLA. The team should move to Las Vegas or Seattle to give the Pels a chance.

He's right to an extent, but he and especially Zion bear a lot of the blame there.

Number 1, NOLA is not a huge market. Full Attendance is actually pretty reliant by folks that live in the suburbs of Metaire, Mandeville, Slidell.

However, if the main characters on the team are repeatedly tapping out and not playing, that leads to people not going to individual games and eventually no longer purchasing larger ticket packages/season tickets.

Then you throw in the crime and pothole elements into play and not a ton of people want to drive from Slidell to Nola on a random Tuesday night to watch JRE and Brandon Boston try to carry us to victory. Then you walk back to your car after the game and you have a ticket, boot, broken window, etc.

And even if you don't because you coughed up the $20-30 for Superdome parking, then you are stuck in the parking lot for an hour and get back home around midnight. And there are also occurrences where broken windows and theft even occur when you chalk up good money for more secured parking.

People simply aren't going to put up with a combination of those things for a bad basketball team/a team where the stars don't care enough to show up game to game for the team, city, fans, etc.

Hey, at least we're not a team that plays in the second biggest market and opened a new arena and still finished 30th in attendance.
