What’s going on in Baton Rouge today?

I have the day off work and have been running errands all day and the traffic has been nuclear. From 10am up until now Essen, College, and Perkins have all been war zones. What’s going on? It’s only Thursday, we have an away game this weekend, and there are no major events that I’m aware of that are happening.
Is this just a normal Thursday in Baton Rouge or am I missing something? If so, we cannot let this become the norm and need to let our local leaders know that this is unacceptable and something has to be done

There was emergency construction on i-10 today to patch a big arse hole/collapse in the elevated portion of 10

Thank you! I’ve lived in Baton Rouge for 5 years and had a hunch that something had to have been going on because this definitely didn’t seem normal.
