Will we pass a budget or another CR to start the new fiscal year?

We have 11 days. Why isn't there more talk about the looming budget deadline?

The new fiscal year starts October 1.

When the last CR was passed, the continuation of insane spending was ignored because "it's Biden's budget still". Moving forward, this is Trump's.

Our spending and deficit/debt is the biggest political issue we're facing right now and you'd barely know we're basically at the deadline. Even before the CK killing, it was getting almost no air time.

You would think this would take weeks/months to negotiate if we were cutting spending, but it seems there has been 0 effort from Congress, the Senate, and the White House to get something going.

I think you know the answer already. It begins with C and ends with R.

Since the last budget passed, Newt was speaker, I hope you are holding your breath for a budget...

I don't think anyone ever really expected anything but another CR.

I expected an actual attempt at a budget... Congress has one job and they fail miserably at it year after year...

It's a CR or shutdown. At this point, there aren't enough Dem votes to pass a budget. But you already know that.

It's not just Congress. The White House isn't really doing much of anything.

If there was progress on an actual budget you'd probably be hearing about it. They're shooting for a CR, most likely. I wouldn't doubt that they are expecting Democrats to force a shutdown.

Of course, this leadership is addicted to deficit spending so we can fund more foreign conflicts

More like Neocon Mike. His top priority is ensuring anti foreign intervention voices do not gain traction in the GOP. War mongerer forever

There may not ever be another budget passed. Seems like CRs have become the norm and I haven't seen any movement away from them.

Any opposition to CRs is labeled as traitorous, by both sides.

In my opinion, this is the hill that it would have made sense for Elon to plant his flag on.

I would have agreed with everything he said for obbb on this. This is where we’re getting screwed.

Because CRs are just how it is going to be forever.

Hasn’t been passed since 2008.

Matt Gaetz tried to force Kevin McCarthy into taking up more discrete appropriation bills from each congressional committee but that led to the ouster of KM as speaker and a pyrrhic victory for Matt.

or another CR

We’re getting another CR and you are going to love it.

Do you realize the $800 billion stimulus package that was in the 2008 bailout was never removed from consecutive CRs?

Now you know why I get so black pilled on this issue. DC is broken.

In January they said "We'll fight in September". When passing teh BBB, they said "We'll make cuts in September" It's September, and they will pass another CR, and somehow it will be Massie's fault.
