McAulay said “I didn’t think it was possible for any fan base with which I interact with on X to be as vitriolic, childish, and ignorant of officiating and rules than the Tennessee fan base, but in about 12 hours the Texas A&M fan base has done it."

McAauluay believes that 1. TAMU committed holding on the 4th down at the end of the game 2. TAMU also committed holding on the kickoff return that was called back 3. The controversial targeting call on ND in the 3rd quarter was incorrect.

Eh, he's hardly "knighting for his fellow officials". He's actually arguing that 2 of the 3 big calls that the officials made in the game were incorrect.

Now, you can argue that he's not a completely neutral party due to being the rules analyst for Notre Dame games. (Although I think it's pretty obvious that at minimum he's correct about the final play being blatant holding.) But he's hardly knighting for his fellow officials here.

The targeting call was the one that knocked Reed out for a play and was a textbook lowering of the head and leading with the crown

The holding on the kickoff ended up working in aTm’s favor, but the one at the end of the game was clear as day.

Unsurprisingly, these are two of the worst fanbases on the SEC rant.

LSU fans are slacking. I blame it on BK winning a season opener

That’s a strong statement considering he was the ref for the Bottlegate game in 2001

is anyone arguing otherwise?

The offensive linemen tackled the defensive linemen. It was textbook.

I mean none of these should be controversial to anyone who watches football. Looking back though, I would be okay if they didn't call the holding on the kick return so we had the ball with 2 time outs and 3 minutes left to get a field goal.

Was the last play a hold? Yes. Notre dame had done the same thing twice on their previous drive and it wasn’t called so I don’t really want to hear about that last call at all.

The “hold” on the kickoff return didn’t happen. Dudes got their feet tangled and fell. That’s not a penalty. And the angle they used to “show” the penalty was some bank security tape quality footage from the opposite end zone.
