My Speed Queen dryer no longer heats. I do not know how to work on a dryer. I need recommendations to a repair shop or person. TIA!
I’m located in Denham Springs.

Does Napoleon still work on appliances?

Wait, I thought Speed Queens didn't have any issues?

The dryer is almost ten years old. Anything mechanical breaks eventually.

Turn in your man card. Seriously.
You can learn how to fix it. Or are you saying you’re stupid?

You can learn how to a lot of things, but doesn’t mean it’s the best use of your effort, time, or money.

I haven't used him in a couple of years but David Cade is the best I have run across.

YouTube.
It's probably a thermal fuse or something similar. $10-$20 part and 20 minutes of time.

This. My dryer's heating element went out about 7-8 years ago, the light had gone out before that but I didn't care about that. Looked up fixing the heating element and light on Youtube, both parts together may have cost $50.
It took a little time, but it was a neat project and saved me a good chunk of change.

By the time you find someone, call them, schedule an appointment for a convenient time and get the work done you could be up and running if you diy. I just repaired mine. Complete breakdown and reassembly took about two hours. It’s actually a more efficient use of your time to diy
You could change bearings and tensioning pulley while you’re in there and have piece of mind for another 10 yrs. My GE is on 18 years because of preventative maintenance.

I have a Samsung that did that after 11 years (samsung > Speed queen
) and was quotes over 500 to fix it. 10 min on youtube and $25 spent on amazon and I was back up and running. Its pretty easy, probably the heating element.

The heating element needs to be replaced. You can figure this out. It is an easy repair.

BS.
With the amount of advice available on YouTube, plus guidance from AI apps like ChatGPT or Copilot, there are a lot of home repair jobs that can be done DIY, and for a whole lot less money than paying a pro.
