This shows the point that I was trying to make in another thread. There are many factions of the conservative party that often but heads, where as liberals always toe the party line, even if it goes against their beliefs. Gays and feminist supporting Muslims because the party tells them too, even though Muslims would stone them to death.

We need 4 parties in this country to represent the chart of fiscal and social beliefs. I'm very conservative financially, but less conservative socially. That person is very conservative socially, but might not be fiscally.

Yet, that doesn't get the attention as a couple of out of context soundbites. This should -SHOULD- shut down a bunch of the nonsense. It won't, though

One of the bigger mistakes I feel like I made was not knowing more about this guy.

Well the point of the thread was that his views are being misrepresented not that they aligned with yours. But here’s your attention.

Same. I have known about him for a long time but I generally stay away from media like that; too much of what is out there is just “gotcha” stuff and IMO makes conservatives look bad. But I have been and will be watching a lot of his videos. And also reading my Bible and hopefully finding a church home

Ideal probably but no matter what, it will always come down to 2. People can only think in two dimensions unfortunately.

I can understand where you are coming from but want to ask a followup.... are homosexuals welcome in your church?

Interesting question.

Many churches might say that you are welcome to worship, but they wouldn't perform a gay marriage.

Many might also not keep you from walking in the door to worship, but they wouldn't accept you into their fellowship as a member.

But why the focus on homosexuality?

The Christian church I grew up in...which is popular throughout the Southeast...taught that the only way to become a Christian was to be baptized after reaching what is called "the age of accountability", i.e. you have to be old enough to understand that you're a sinner, and not an infant.

So none of those churches would accept a Catholic (infant baptism) as being a Christian. They would not accept a believer who had never been baptized as being a Christian.

Sure, those people would be welcomed if they walked in the door on Sunday morning. But accepted as a fellow Christian? No

What's the difference?

The first is,
About openly embracing sin.

No church should condone an unrepentant adulterous person, or an unrepentant alcoholic, an unrepentant thief.

No one should block someone from going to church, church is for sinners.

But no one going to church can be openly living a life of sin and not expect correction.

The way is straight and narrow, we have to give up things we want to do because we love God more.

Christ died for all of our sins.
But you cant hold back some sins from his blood and actually believe.
