The current lefty talking point is New Orleans is a safe city because crime is “down!” Yeah down compared to what?

Of course it is down. If you don't respond to calls for the Police then no crime is reported. Old democrat trick

Nobody around here reports crimes anymore. So yes it’s down because no one reports anything anymore

Very strange, but true that Landry could “fix” NOLA in the same way that Trump will (Rule of Law enforcement with guns)…IF Landry had the gravitas that Trump has. It’s like an animal ‘pecking order’ psychological thing; the Hood would fight Landry to a backdown but they won’t fight much against Trump.

Humans are very fickle creatures.

Crime is maybe less high than it used to be, but it is by no means a safe city. Residents knowing the police will take hours if not days to show up, and not do anything about it, they don’t even bother reporting minor crimes. Numerous car break-ins and traffic accidents don’t get reported. The illegals don’t report getting robbed or assaulted. Drug world crimes against one another don’t get reported. Then on top of that, who knows what games the NOPD might be playing with classification of statistics.

They’re like anybody else; they know Jeff Landry is not a serious person.

Crime is definitely down compared to a few years ago… but it’s still very bad

Compared to a few years ago and definitely better than the mid 90's where NOLA was clocking better than a murder a day and carjackings were commonplace. You are also less likely to get mugged than you were 5 years ago or 30 years ago

NOLA has never been a "safe" city. You always knew where to stay away from....like the Warehouse District before the 84 World's Fair into the Lower GardenDistrict and the St Thomas projects.

Trump could order the NG in, but they'd be less useful than Troop NOLA who basically writes tickets overall.
