Seems like everything is measured in football fields, bananas, coke cans, and school busses. Too many photos with "for scale"

Why was Sheriff Brody asked to step to the edge of the bow when the shark passed? For scale. Saying something is 10 inches is not as impressive as demonstrating it with a familiar object.

Yep. I'm having 4 ex-wives worth of regret for starting it.

Because a CD on the dust cap for scale has more impact than saying it is a 21" subwoofer.

Are you too stupid to understand that sometimes people compare sizes of things to help others better understand it and make it more palatable? This isn’t some weird or difficult concept to grasp, yet here we are.

Also, thanks for taking the time to capitalize every word in the thread title, you psychopath.

Oh, it's a fellow "Americans will use anything but the metric system for measurement" and "Dull Men's Club" lurker. Well alright then.

Some of the example photos are funny. Premise of the question is still dumb. 6/10.

You really don't understand the purpose or value of holding a lighter next to a spider when trying to guage size? Especially when that spider is on a blank wall with no identifiable features?

5 grams = 3 human testicles? I don’t think so. An ounce is 28 grams. A human testicle weighs about one ounce, so three would weigh 84 grams, not 5 grams.

i’m not in construction, so i rarely have a tape measure on me.

so if i need to size something up, i compare it to something else near by.

so what if i look stupid making my kids lay down at home depot to measure 2x4s according to 2 kids plus roughly half my left foot.

If I need a board precisely 47 dicks long, why should I complicate things?
