Lots of them appear to be very close to some rundown, high crime neighborhoods, , anyways what’s your best elementary school and pros and cons of each.

We love St. Jude. It's maybe the smallest of the Catholic private schools and has a great, close-knit community feel amongst the parents and faculty.

If I had it to do over, I’d send to local public elementary. Then transfer to private around 3rd grade.
Wasted so much money on Kindergarten, 1st. 2nd. Could have put that money into a mutual fund. All schools are about the same in this early ages.

Welcome to most cities. Most places aren’t some new suburb in Texas.

Does your kid play basketball?

Which schools have the hottest teachers?

Let me tell you how to do this in any city.
Start with the Episcopal or Jewish school if there is one and work your way down.

This seems like a waste of time. There are a decent amount of enough good ones and a lot of this is subjective. One kid might fit at one school but not at another.

Parkview Baptist is the place to be

Your kid will likely struggle when you enroll him or her in a decent private school after wasting time in a public school.

I second this. I have a first grader there and my youngest will start pre-k next year. We’re very impressed by it so far.

I think we’re going to look into this route as well

The school that receives the most downvotes from the O-T is where you should send your children. So far, Parkview is in the lead

All of the schools have to follow the same academic standards for elementary subjects.
So your differences will be 9th grade courses, clubs, sports, school and class size, faculty and admin.
No way to decide without calling/touring and deciding for yourself.
If academics is your driving force you should ask what percentage of their 8th graders are passing the entrance exams to skip 9th grade subjects in the high schools.
So algebra, English 1, physical science, and maybe Spanish if they offer that as an everyday subject - how many of their 8th graders are taking those 9th grade classes as an 8th grader, and how many of those taking those classes are testing out of them at the high schools.
