LSU's law dean pushed out the door

So they are firing her but she [link=(gets to be a full time professor now)]https://www.nola.com/news/education/lsu-law-school-dean-alena-allen-discrimination/article_94512a6b-7397-4491-98cf-4ce0d3c3ecf1.html[/link]. I guess that's part of the employment deal when they hire deans. She says they are canning her because she complained that the school's budget statements were false.
She says racism and sexism are the explanation.
I have never worked in college budgeting. She's saying the budget included false numbers on how much they were going to get from tuition. Is it really possible that something so clearly inaccurate was reported in budget documents? Also I thought it was pretty common that tuition doesn't cover the cost of a school and so they have to make up funding with donations.

According to documents provided to The Advocate | The Times-Picayune, Allen said she was concerned that the school's budget showed it receiving the full cost of tuition when in fact it granted numerous discounts. That led to budget shortfalls, and private donations from the school's foundation filling the gap, she said.
But while she reported the irregularities and worked to address them, she said she faced questions from LSU leaders that led her to believe she was being blamed for the issues — even though they had happened before her tenure.
"I am the first woman and the first person of color to serve as the permanent dean of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center. That fact is not incidental—it is central to what follows," she wrote in one response to auditors. "I find it deeply troubling, and frankly difficult to ignore, that I appear to be held to a standard far more exacting than that applied to my white, overwhelmingly male predecessors. It was they who oversaw and entrenched the very practices I have since questioned and begun to reform."

Yeah, in 2025 at a public law school the reason she’s being let go is that she’s not an old white dude.
No one will notice.
No one will notice.

Time to do the right thing and put Joseph Bockrath in the driver’s seat

As a recent graduate, that school is a complete dumpster fire on all levels and it’s not improving any time soon.

OK, now I'm very interested in hearing about this. Care to elaborate?

Sounds like a huge bitch that thinks she’s smart.

The key for the dems the past 16 years was to flood all the upper middle and below managerial positions with meh minorities as compared to their colleagues that applied.
Not opinion. Pure facts.
Example:
This lady
Almost every single police chief I’ve seen the past 8 months
Fire chiefs

Yeah… a black, female lawyer who works at a state public university who is being removed as Dean and is crying all the isms? Not sure what it is, but something is telling me she will always have a permanent job. I doubt she’ll even have to show up. And they may even just pass the job down to her kids when she dies.

Ummmm why hire you to begin with if they’re racist/sexist?

In this socio-political environment, the more "isms" you claim, the better your qualifications.
How am I wrong?

I’ve tried to have rational discussions with people who buy lock step into the cries of racism and or sexism in cases like this and many don’t understand that this lady and others in and around LSU have been fired for political reasons… it’s that simple..and the cries otherwise don’t help getting more people to. Actually look at the BS that some in this admin are stirring. They’ve cut out some really solid people that have nothing to do with the past admin but are simply guilty by proxy
I’ve got no idea if she deserved this or not but she immediately loses credibility with her whining.

Man I posted on another thread about how i only see minorities walking around campus and that my neighbors kid who scored a 35 on his ACT couldn’t get a call back from admissions. A few people crucified me for stating truths I guess they don’t want to hear. Hopefully these same idiots don’t do that to you for just stating the truth.
The fact is that LSU went full on DEI and it’s not like they just recently went in that direction. If I had to guess, things are probably going to get worse without major changes to personnel.

The whole State Government and Louisiana State Bar Association has gone DEI.

The era of DEI is finally over.
