Is Blake Baker a potential HC?

Obvious thoughts after a game 1 win, but Kelly only has so many years left, and we know Baker wants to be here. He's been coaching for over 15 years and not one shot at a head gig.

Would he be a potential heir apparent or should I read into his resume more, career coordinator?

Oh he's definitely a future HC. I imagine this is our last year with him.

I’d keep an eye on Tulane when Sumrall bolts after this season

I guess the differentiator for this situation would be his desire to be at LSU. I'm hopeful he's open to stick around and wait for the opportunity to arise here.

He also could stink it up the rest of the season and I'll forget this thread exists.

From inside info…he has no want to be a HC. He wants to be where he is and nothing else.

Just kidding. I have no clue but the def looked great.

Thought about this too. Hopefully he hangs around as DC for a couple more years while lsu finds a DC replacement, and Baker takes CBK’s job.

I’m not saying Baker wouldn’t leave for Tulane head coaching job, but he makes 2.5M at LSU and Sumrall makes 3.0M at Tulane. If I was baker I would look for a job at a bigger school.

Baker to Baylor, Aranda back to LSU. That would be interesting.

Baker went to and played at Tulane. If he wants to be a HC then it’d be a no brainer to take the job after Sumrall leaves

I'd think we'd be very fortunate to have him for one more season after this one. His stock will be soaring this year and he'll be a hot name for open jobs. If he's like most young and coming assistants, he has HC aspirations.

It 100% depends on what he wants to do. He will certainly be on some offer lists but at what level of team? He is one of the highest paid asst coaches out there at $2.5mil/yr so that gives some insulation against FCS jobs.
