It was a ritual before watching College Game Day. Also the Spanish Fly.

The world lost a good one.

Fair winds and following seas, Flip.

100%

Flip introduced me to what a Florida Snook was and as a young lad I always envisioned myself standing on the platform of a shallow water boat one day in the Florida, fly fishing for Snook in the flats. Still haven't crossed tat one off the list.

R.I.P. Legend.

Flip and Jose fueled my saltwater passion as a young man. Hopefully they are poling a glassy flat casting to tailing bones together right now!

RIP Flip

Don't understand why ESPN, especially with all the channels they have now, didn't create an outdoor Sports Network. Those fishing shows on Saturday mornings was a ritual for me. Wanna catch a tarpon on a fly.

I'll occasionally listen to the Walker's Cay Chronicles intro from time to time, just for the nostalgia.

Grew up with Flip and Jose W. on Sat mornings, apparently like so many on here, learned a lot.

Rest easy, Flip.

My brothers and I would get up early and watch Saturday morning cartoons while eating our cereal. But when dad came in the den with his cup of coffee in hand we knew the channel was being changed to WCC no ifs, ands or buts. If any of us had a question or something to say it could only be during the commercial breaks.

Saturday morning on ESPN was TV gold. Started off with The Fishin' Hole with Jerry McKinnis, Bassmasters, Walker's Cay Chronicles then, my least favorite, Roland Martin. According to my dad Roland was a fat idiot who caught the same bass from 7 different camera angles. I still watched him but I did so with a little contempt.

Sure was! Hate to hear he has passed but there is comfort in a life well lived and it would be hard to imagine anyone doing it better than Flip....

In my mind there was Flip, Mark Sosin and Jose Wejebe and Flip and Jose were what I still envision as great dudes who I would give anything to spend time on a boat with. Mark Sosin, on the other hand, was the kind of person you USUALLY find on a boat LOL...somewhat of an a-hole who knew less than his finances would indicate....

Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston, were for me, in the same category as Flip and Jose....as was Hank Parker. I can't think of a freshwater equivalent of Mark Sosin...maybe Roland Martin but on TV he did not seem horrible....I have heard that in person he can be but it didn't come across to me on TV....

If have a fishing fantasy it would be to fish with Bill Dance and Flip Pallot....

As with most here I watched eagerly Sat morning ESPN.
I own a few Tibor reels because of Flip Pallot.

He was a poet both with his words and his fly rod.

RIP. A true legend. Flip was as good with a bow as he was with a fly rod.
