What is the mindset behind angry drivers?

Especially for no reason at all? Just to get in a huge hunk of steel and take your anger out on the road putting others lives at risk, these kind of people that have these issues should be looked at a little closer
I was driving on a two lane state highway with my kids, this HWY has direct access to connecting roads and business entrances, and a 55 mph speed limit
I knew well in advance I am making a right turn, start to slow down and put the signal on, then the car behind us decides to speed up and ride our arse to the point as I am turning he practically clips me as he passes. Almost seeming angry that I would slow them down for a brief second so I could turn in.
People refusing to let other people merge, to the point they intentionally speed up to make it more difficult or refusing to yield when it’s not a good time to merge.
Everyone talks about drunk drivers, but how many wrecks and fatalities are caused by your average angry drivers?
I just don’t get this mentality at all.

We’re surrounded by low IQ humans. Defensive driving is the only way

Very low intelligence is my guess. Zero impulse control.

It's usually always women drivers I'm pissed off at for some idiotic shite

80% of this board is reading this while driving 110mph down I-10 in their 2500 trying to their plant shift in time.

People cruising in the left lane bothers me because they shouldn't be there and often you can't get around them and they have no reason to be there

Even worse is drag racing 7mph under the speed limit with the right hand lane driver
Zero situational awareness

Society has become thoughtless and selfish. Always looking to get angry and to find someone to blame.
It's terrible dangerous on the roads, but it's everywhere.
There was a time when people were neighborly and took care of each other. Now is not that time.

Too many people and too much traffic.

I got places to be. Get behind me and you can then be marked as safe on your socials.

Clock punchers and commission chasers. Nothing starts before I arrive and I’m not in a hurry.

Some people just hate anyone being in front of them. It's the same people who will stand and wait to board the plane first and then get mad if anyone boards ahead of them. The same people who stand as soon as the plane reaches the gate regardless if they re in row 3 or 29. The same people who need to jump in front of you to get to the exit ramp rather than merging behind you. Its got nothing to do with actually getting anywhere faster, just their inadequacies or and feeling less important when anyone is ahead of them.

Usually the anger is caused by shitty drivers that get in the way and slow down/cause traffic

These are the two answers. People cruising in the passing lane jamming up traffic for miles causes the majority of “angry drivers”. If you aren’t passing someone, get the frick in the right lane. It’s a pretty easy concept.

You have an obligation to make an effort to get out of the way on a 55 mph highway. Did you make the turn as if it were a stop sign like a grandma?

It is the same as the snarky, bitter posters here; their personal life is in shambles, they're unsuccessful, so they use the relative anonymity of driving a car (or posting) to get "even".

Getting to the nice stall at work to drop a deuce before everyone else arrives.

I don’t get it. Two guys I work with, one an officer, drives like a mad man. I refuse to ride with him when traveling. Flooring the gas peddle at every take off, slamming brakes, etc. Drives their own vehicles the same way. Is all this really necessary? I asked him once after getting to a restaurant, and he looked at me clueless like he had no idea what I was talking about.
I’m not a slow driver, but it’s my time to relax. I’m not in a race to get to the red light.

Some little shite pissed me off yesterday. Tailgaiting me when I was doing almost 80. Then passed me with his car halfway in my lane and then cut right in front of me.
Some brown person in a old piece of shite BMW with tint peeling all off.
I chalked it up as he'll always be dumbass poor and hopefully his life will always suck..
