William Tate left in June so this semester is on him. During his ensure at LSU their was strange recurring issue with counting students and counting dorms as well as selling parking passes without any parking.

Parking has been an issue at LSU since the early 2000s, but totally miscounting by the hundred and thousands is something that was characteristic of Tate's time here.

This is financially criminal that parents who pay this tuition and fees have for 3 years had students that cannot find housing (1000s) that was promised and cannot find parking that was promised and are now be charged additional money to park this semester. My niece and several students that work in our building have not been able to make it to class because they cannot find parking.

Think twice if you are going to send your kids to LSU.

Parking lots will be empty in a couple weeks after kids stop going to class and are just smoking weed at home all day

This is not a Tate issue, this has been a problem for like 20 years

Sorry your kid can’t find parking in their white privilege mobile

Because lsu is an hbcu the spaces are designed for more economical vehicles like hellcats and Nissan altimas

Tons of universities do this. What do you think someone has 1000 parking places is only going to sell 1000 passes, they may as well number them and assign them.

Everyone knows that the first week or 3 is crazy to find parking to get to class. Leave early and have breakfast on campus

ETA: To be honest the universities ought to just sell some assigned spots and see how much they can get. You got the rich spoiled kids that would pay $1000 for a good parking spot

The problem with assigning them is kids will just share the pass.

I get it, colleges are businesses blah blah blah...but I think too many prominent colleges have sacrificed the student experience for extra money. And it's a shame to see.

It's not just at LSU either.

Parking was bad at LSU in the late 80’s.

I have one child at LSU and one at MS State. State is light years ahead of LSU as far as treating students like paying customers instead of just a number. I went to LSU and it pains me to say that LSU just doesn’t give a frick.

State has tons and tons of space. That's one benefit of a small town college.

LSU not so much

Like how?

I just never thought of college as a place where you were supposed to feel like a special snowflake

I always hear they are going to require freshmen to live on campus and and not have cars, but it never happens. I just see more off campus apartment complexes being built that turn trashy after 10 years.

Great? C'mon

It's a mediocre big southern state school.
