It seems there are more women than men. Normal people are so over the pandering. That pic is ridiculous.

1. Not even close
2. Even so, who fricking cares? ESPN owns the rights to the WNBA and has huge interests in continuing and growing the leagues momentum

Company that owns the media rights to the WNBA attempts to promote WNBA. Absolute fricking shocker I tell ya.

Am I losing my mind?

I don't see him in that and it seems like he would be pretty easy to spot.

ETA: Nvm, found him. He's tiny and definitely not front and center. And they have that in there because of the meme, not because he's a sellable asset.

I agree that they can do whatever they want, and the pic didn't bother me because frankly I don't give a shite. But it's an "Icons" moment/people. No one is questioning Serena Williams being there (front and center) because she's had some iconic moments that even casual sports fans know about. Can you name iconic WNBA players or games?

Sports Icons, by my definition, have to meets several criteria.

1. Considered one the best to ever play.
2. Have longevity in the sport.
3. Influenced the sport in some way (record holder, change the style of play, change how the sport is viewed, unique style of play, etc.)
4. Transcend beyond the sport (i.e. being a household name, influence culture, fashion, etc.)

WNBA has very few of these, but I would consider Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoops, Diana Taurasi, and Candace Parker.

Meh, ESPN has had broadcast rights to the WNBA for years. They just spent billions on acquiring NFL Network, not to mention their continued investment in college football.

As ESPN launches a revamped app and streaming platform to start football season, focusing a lot of attention on the WNBA for a silly graphic just seems way too forced.

You can tell how much TD hates women when people are complaining about WNBA players and nobody has noticed Bryce Underwood.

It's almost as if ESPN is a company that has a vested interest in promoting the WNBA.
