LSU has 4 non conf games scheduled for 2029

Rice
McNeese
One game will have to be moved.
LSU still has some openings in other years.
Do you keep SMU and Arizona St or move one of those?

Kelly wants us in the Dublin game. With the mandate to schedule a power 4, it won't surprise me if that comes together.

How weird is it we have a full 4 game slate 4 years away but only 1 or 2 non conf opponents scheduled for 2026, 2027 and 2028?

We already have P4 opponents scheduled through 2030 except in 2027, so that might be the only year we could. Doesnt mean we cant drop or simply add another P4 team to another year, but i dont know we see too many teams willingly play 2 P4 OOC teams when moving to just 3 OOC games.

I’m not opposed to playing marquee games but I’d rather just enjoy Ireland instead of watching LSU across the pond

No clue how they will be in 2029, but this would currently be two tough OOC opponents. Not sure it makes any sense to play two good teams OOC these days.

I'm with you. Never made sense to me to travel to a place I have not been, then go spend a full day watching a football game there.

I think they will keep smu bc they just recently scheduled that game knowing the possibility of 9 conf games. I think they get rid of asu

I really hope we drop McNeese. D1 teams should not be scheduling FCS schools OOC. However, my cynicism with regards to college sports knows that Arizona State is the most likely casualty because f!&k the fans, right?

What does it matter if we play McNeese/Nichols/Southeastern/Southern/Northwestern or if we play Rice? They are both games we are going to pay them to get the crap beat out of them. I'd rather pay the instate school. I'd just rather this game be the first game of the season, not somewhere in the middle of the schedule.
We have no business scheduling a team like Rice.

Crap tier FBS > FCS, but I agree. We shouldn’t be playing Rice either. We should be playing Tulane if we’re going to play a G5 OOC team.

Verge is the worst scheduler in football history
In 2029 we will play 11 P4 teams, I would assume smu and arizona state won’t be declining any time soon. We will probably play 8-9 ranked opponents that season. Seems reasonable

Ya but rice agreed to reschedule away game @ LSU
Tulane AD will never agree to play at LSU unless LSU agrees to a home and home which makes no sense financially
