He oversees both of Gail Benson's teams, the Pelicans and the Saints. That speaks volumes! His teams only produce enough to wet the appetites of the fans, and thus, keep 'em coming.
Stevie Wonder could see for the past few seasons our defense was one of the oldest in the NFL. Loyalty trumped talent, so to speak.. look at the blunders over the years. We let Trey Hendrickson go and kept an inferior defensive end that didn't deliver the goods. Cam Jordan is a dinosaur and though he was great as a Saint, he is now missing a step or two. Demario Davis is up in age, too. You can't tell me these guys are still at the top of their game after all these seasons. It's a business..not a high school reunion.

We know, but we also know he isn't going anywhere ever.

So he finally decided to rebuild this year. It is what it is, but if we still stink in 2 years this fanbase really needs to revolt

Actually they couldn’t afford to pay him and Cam Jordan at the time. So they decided that Trey was more a product of Jordan taking focus off of him. The reality is, Hendrickson is really fricking good. We then proceeded to waste two high end 1st round picks trying to replace him in Davenport and Turner.

He really is. I was hoping Mrs Benson would clean house on both franchises. I think Kellen Moore can be good, but as of now he is going to be held back by the atrocious front office.

Any number of executives that haven't made horrible moves over the past 6 years could be "the solution" instead.

However, Loomis isn't going anywhere so we have no choice but to see what he does with the rebuild.

the Pelicans

He stopped overseeing the Pelicans in 2019. A simple google search would have showed you this.

Both teams have basically the same exact front office with the exception of Loomis & Dumars holding similar positions for the respective organizations.

quote:

Cam Jordan is a dinosaur and though he was great as a Saint, he is now missing a step or two

Which is why his contract expires after this season and he only played in 48% of the snaps last year. Which is down from 70% the year before. His contract is also the 52nd highest paid edge rusher (3rd highest on Saints roster)

quote:

Demario Davis is up in age, too.

And still regarded as one of the better LBers around the league. He also has an expiring contract that ends after this year; although, he has stated he would like to play 3 more years. His contract is the 22nd higher paid for LBers.

Mickey is a problem with the way he has managed this roster, but you picked some bad examples and have some bad info in your post

If CKM becomes a winning playoff coach Mickey will give him what he wants and leave him alone to do his job. Just have to get there first lol

May want to catch up on your google skills. He has not overseen the Pelicans for several years.

Trey missed a lot of games with the Saints, and he had one really good year in his contract year. Hindsight is 20/20, and most of us wanted to retain him, but it looks like a much worse move now than it did at the time. Trey had 13.5 sacks in his 4th year with the Saints(15 games); he had 6.5 in his 3 years prior(30 games). I do wish he was still with the Saints.

What did you dudes expect after Brees retired. They were going to either find a qb in free agency or start a rebuild. They tried the Qb and now a rebuild is in progress . Let it happen and stop

I heard from somebody today that Loomis was responsible for the last 3 years of suckage. This tech age we live in is amazing with the things we learn.
