Residents in Fort Collins have been spotting something unusual while walking in their neighborhoods: rabbits that appear to have tentacle-like growths on their faces.

KUSA reached out to Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the NOCO Humane Society about the unusual bunnies.

Rabbits appear to enjoy living in Fort Collins just as much as people. They’re often spotted hopping through neighborhoods and looking for grub.

But there are rabbits that when neighbors spot them, “cute” isn’t exactly the word that comes to mind.

Rabbits are notorious for enjoying a good love making session, apparently even with dinosaurs.

I love Fort Collins. The rabbits are definitely everywhere. Went for a walk with my nine year old and she had a great time watching all of the bunnies. We did not see any of these Cthulhu bunnies. Apparently the virus they have does not kill them unless they can't eat or see. It does not spread to other species.

So it’s a virus that isn’t contagious to other species.
