Kirk don’t do travel ball then. Quit bragging about your privileged vacations you rather go do

My son plays rec ball in the summer but we play in three travel tournaments in the spring and three in the fall, mainly to get some extra experience in addition to the 8-10 games in the summer.

I do agree that the "culture" sucks arse. We really can't compete with the true travel teams because they play every damn weekend all over the place. The players and parents are entitled douches.

This is like a bat sign to the travel dad's. They'll be here soon enough to tell you how the $300K they've collectively spent on their kids baseball all paid off when they got that scholly to Bethune Cookman, Centenary, Belhaven, LSUE, etc.

All travel ball parents should just get on ESPN then the coaches at Clemson, Ohio St, and Michigan will just let their scrub kid on the college team.

Robin Roberts foresaw this 50 years ago and wrote an article about it.

I don’t have kids

But was working in an office during my training during travel ball tryout season in BR in an office of mom’s with kids going through it.

I feel like it’s the moms who really fuel this shite. Why?

Because it causes drama. And women love nothing more than drama.

Whose kid is on what team. What coach knows who. Why some picks are bad and why some are good. Who doesn’t deserve their spot. Speculating on the politics of why a kid got what spot.

And they talk about this shite like their kid is Aaron Judge or Randy Johnson. No. Your little boy is going to play baseball until maybe senior year of high school and that’s it.

Never underestimate the ability for a middle aged housewife to make something out of nothing to fill in the monotony of their lives.

My kid plays travel ball and I hate it. I do think it’s funny when other kids rag him for his pay to play league though.

My kid played competitive ball and we were done 2nd week of June, didn't travel most years - but aren't most of those under <15s at the beach? We didn't do it....but 15 + we were in Tuscaloosa, Starkville, Vandy, Oxford and a few jucos - tons of scouts and it paid for first 2 years of school

I’ll respect him again after he apologies for that awful woke acting job. Keep politics out of sports. It’s why I like sports bc it’s an escape from everything else

I played Dixie before travel ball was a thing. I like it better because there was an end goal that meant something. 20 rec league games and then all stars. To me that’s plenty. Living in a neighborhood playing sports with my friends was more beneficial.
