LSU
+ The Tigers did not hold a formal scrimmage, but it was a live-contact practice. LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was on the field after Brian Kelly announced Friday that he’s dealing with patella tendinitis.
+ Nic Anderson “is a freak,” one source told On3. The former Oklahoma transfer has been “fantastic” when he has been on the practice field. The Tigers also feel good about Kentucky transfer wide receiver Barion Brown. As the Bengal Tiger also reported, wideout Aaron Anderson was in full pads but did not participate in any competitive portions of Saturday’s practice.
+ Time will tell how big a factor tight end Trey’Dez Green will be in the LSU offense this fall. However, a source told On3 that he has emerged as a “more consistent passcatcher” in training camp.
+ There is some confidence that the Tigers accomplished what they wanted to in the spring transfer portal. Houston safety AJ Haulcy has really turned some heads, while USF defensive lineman Bernard Gooden will be a key piece of the interior defensive line.
+ As one source put it, “the defense as a whole looks legit.” The Tigers enter their second year with defensive coordinator Blake Baker, and there is confidence that they have the right personnel.

Goodness. It will be a huge disappointment if isn’t a huge factor in the offense.

I still think this defense is going to come and surprise and possibly shock at how well put together it is. The DL sounds like it could be a spark. The entire front seven sounds really good.

Think last year Bo and Peoples put together a unit that was suppose to be one of the weaker units especially depth wise. Peoples worked magic on Swinson/Jones and their interior didn't have a ton to work with. This unit this year is way more cohesive with NFL players on it. I think they might surprise especially considering how underrated a coach Peoples is and all indications are Kyle is an excellent coach himself.

Looking at the 2 deep it's loaded with NFL players and experience. They just need to come together as one unit with chemistry. As the season goes on you should see a much better team overall. We just have to weather the storm in the first half of this season overall.

I haven't been super impressed with him. Reminds me somewhat of Malachi Dupree, but he's still young and can change that. Fortunately we have enough options that if he doesn't live up to the hype we should still be ok

He’s the TE2 and there are like 6 legit WRs targets. His role will be similar to last year

If people have an opinion that they went to be taken serious, then learn how to spell. That’s like a guy talking about Beamer and South Carolina being legit and he is worried about them, then mentioned Lagway playing for them

It's a player's name. Learn to spell player's names. I could give a shite about other misspellings.

Agreed. Red zone weapon that can’t block. Sharp will see the field much more often.

I heard DJ had a PBU on Nic. Glad he’s working with the good WRs.

I also heard that the OL didn’t give up a sack today. First team OL looked good. 2nd team had 5 penalties.

They will be on the field a lot together. Especially in the redzone. I see an 8-10 TD season for the big fella.

Was it stated WHO those 5 may have been? We can all make educated guesses, but I would rather hear from them.

No one gives a frick if the players parents misspelled their name and someone else uses the common, accepted general spelling of that name
