Why did walk ons do away with QUESCO CHEESE DIP…it’s a sports bar where their clientele is MEN….
It’s cheap to make and a staple at tailgates and home watch parties …
What stupid idiot made this decision…

No shite baw. All I want after a day of splitting wood and gutting hogs is to beat my ole lady and crush beer with a nice bowl of tortilla chips and queso. And the bastards took it from us, shake my mullet.

Dropped by the Walk-ons in Covington recently. They sat us down on the covered outdoor section. Brought a dirty high chair, table was sticky, as was the floor. We left. Unfortunately WO has or used to have good buffalo chicken wraps. It’s been a while since we’ve been there, won’t go back.

Did you need to save a bunch of time abbreviating walk ons?

Weird melt
My daughter works at Walk ons in Hammond, they stay busy.
Only thing I get there is burgers or black jack chicken sandwich (pro tip: tell them one breast in the side. If not it’s a mess to eat, plus plenty so you got a chicken breast to go.)
Some of
Their other stuff is actually good, but not paying $25-30 for entree at WalkOns… I’ll got to LA Laignappe or something

I can’t tell you last the lime I ordered anything other than the Hangover burger. It’s been consistent at every location I go to. May only go there a couple times a year, but it’s still pretty good for what it is.

I remember ....
My favorite WO's bad decision was when they tried to draw in Hooters' clientele. I took a client to the campus WO, and we found ourselves waited on by flat-chested coeds wearing low cut tops and pushup bras trying to do the impossible. It was awkward for everybody.

I’ll never understand middle aged dudes who go to a restaurant to oogle the server. If you want to see tits, just go on the internet

I'd never been to a Walk Ons and the comments on this board don't do it any favors.
We tried the new one in Central tonight and the food was very good. The service was very slow but they've only been open about a week. I'll be going back. It will be a great place to catch an LSU game.

Certain dishes can be good. I think they’ve experienced growing pains.
It gets grief for several reasons:
Different Franchise owners that provide inconsistencies of food and service.
Service is very hit or miss for me. That’s a management by location issue I’m sure. E.g. I’m seated at a 4 top and there are only 3 tables in the restaurant. I can see the manager. I see servers walking by, but I have to get up after 5 minutes to ask if someone is waiting on me. That’s a management issue at that location. It doesn’t mean service is crap everywhere.
Food suffered shrinkflation issues during/after Covid all while increasing menu prices to combat food costs, which for repeat customers, is always a challenge to manage.
They make scratch food which is a plus, but I think ultimately it falls on management to monitor prep/cook/execution. Apparently that fails fairly often according to this board. I imagine they dealt with turnover and staffing issues like most over the last 4-5 years during COVID and post COVID which makes that a difficult task to manage.
For a sports bar, it’s an expensive concept to maintain and run. Their prices are high, but so is their capital outlay to build these things and run them.
It’s a model that I think really has to pull in that cash during football season, and hope that the rest of the year they can break even.

They also did away with the pulled pork sandwich with jalapeño slaw & the prime rib poboy (now sliders)

Stay away from the imported seafood.

Think Wes Welker started them. It’s bar food. Nothing great. Nothing terrible.
