I get lost in it sometimes Loved it before commercial breaks, love it still. Does the internet / streaming world get better than this service? Post your favorites!

YouTube is an American social media and online video sharing platform owned by Google. YouTube was founded on February 14, 2005,[7] by Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim, and Steve Chen, who were former employees of PayPal. Headquartered in San Bruno, California, it is the second-most-visited website in the world, after Google Search. In January 2024, YouTube had more than 2.7 billion monthly active users, who collectively watched more than one billion hours of videos every day.[8] As of May 2019, videos were being uploaded to the platform at a rate of more than 500 hours of content per minute,[9][10] and as of mid-2024, there were approximately 14.8 billion videos in total.[11]

Your wife loves MyTube too.

ETA: the recently changed their algorithms for the worse and I don’t get near as much variation in my recommended videos anymore. Also their new layout is absolute trash and way less user friendly.

I mostly use it for DIY videos. There are way too many ads nowadays

The ads are outrageously bad, but you’re right, you can learn anything on YouTube these days

Ditto.

It’s how I fixed my dryer this week. Had to replace the heating coil.

I pay the subscription and go ad free. It's about all I watch anymore. Some random guys adventures building a car is more interesting than anything on regular TV.

I watched a guy forge a knife and a full knee replacement by a surgeon last night. That's worth 14 bucks a month.

Get premium. For $10 a month, it's well worth it.

Or, get Brave browser. i know YouTube is trying to do things to interrupt ad blockers, but last I checked a few months ago Brave browser still worked as far as no ads ads concerned.

I'm not sure I spend a better $10 a month.

As someone with 900 videos saved to be watched later, you could say I love YouTube as well

I need to just pay for premium - the ads get worse each month
Just today I had 3 ads in an 8 minute period

YouTube Premium and TD Platinum are two services that are worth every penny.

100% worth it. Of all the different subs my family pays for every month, the YouTube premium would be the last to go. I could never go back to poor person YouTube.

I use Brave and AdBlock+ on my PC. It’s a running battle as YouTube tries to force the ads but my combination works within 48 hours to get the ads out again.

ETA
Adblock+ opens a new page when it updates automatically and gives a total ads blocked count. Brave does a pretty good job but AdBlock has blocked over 1400 ads on its own this year.

No question about it.

Would be the last sub I ever hold on to, all the others could go.

I agree, I have the premium subscription and I love watching concert footage and music videos. Along with a few bourbon drinks it's what I do most Friday nights
