Watched it a few years back and loved it.
Very underrated show with great characters.
Ian Kahn nailed the Washington portrayal and Simcoe turned out to be a great villain

Loved it, Major Andre, Brewster, Simcoe, Rogers, Major Hewitt and Tallmadge are all great characters. Peggy Shippen is a smoke show. The only downer in the series is that the main character, Woodhull, is maybe the worst character.

Doesn’t this show have a great villain?
I need to watch it.

Loved it. I’d like to do a rewatch, but prime just took it down.

One of my all-time favorites but I love Revolutionary War history so it’s right up my alley. As others have said, so many great characters, especially Simcoe. The wife and I are actually in the middle of a rewatch now.

What are you watching on?

Love this show. For those interested this is based off a pretty good book giving the real story called "Washington's Spies" by Alexander Rose. The true story is obviously different but still entertaining

I went ahead and just splurged ($40) for the box set on iTunes.

My pops two favorite shows are Hell on Wheels and Turn.

And there is a town just across the border in Canada named after him. He’s a fabulous villain that is easy to hate, and for good reason.

I just did a second rewatch last month. It takes more liberties with history than a show like John Adams but I love it. I’m not sure if Amazon fixed the bug but last month every episode was available with AMC+ except season 2, episode 9. I had to buy it and message customer service for a credit.

He really was, every time you’d start to see a little humanity in him he’d break your heart. In the end there was a little smidge of something in him but I don’t want to give any spoilers away.

Great character in the show, but they did the historical figure dirty
He ended up being a governor of Canada and founded what became Toronto in real life. And he wasn’t a blood thirsty psychopath.

Maybe they just saw how great he was as a villain and ran with it.
