Sugar Me Sweet in Central

Baum’s daughter in law (I think) that got the recipes when Baum’s closed

I never had Baums but I don’t see how it could be any better than the one at Sugar Me Sweet, it’s the best cake I’ve ever had

Gambino’s
Also their wedding flavor cake is great. Their lemon meringue pie is the best I’ve ever had. Likely need to call to get that one made; they don’t always have them in the shelves.

Not BR but if you find yourself in Lafayette Pouparts on pinhook has a fantastic doberge cake and many other great items. If you like sweets the small pastries pouparts sells are amazing. Some very complex ones that are awesome.

I have only ever had doberge cake from Gambino's in New Orleans...it's one of our family's go-to birthday cakes...and they ship them anywhere...

Lemon on one side, chocolate on the other...

Do not knock Oak Point's until you've had it...I was a die hard Baum's fan and it's amazing.

I bought Oak Point’s doberge after Baums closed and was always pleased. Half and half lemon/chocolate is one of my favorite cakes.

Sugar Me Sweet in Central eclipsed Oak Point and is now my go-to. More expensive and not as convenient though.

Ambrosia has been extremely hit or miss on the past few cakes we've gotten from there.
The Doberge was a definite miss.

Is that the place that used to be Calandro’s?

There have been two locations in Denham and Central for years. They recently bought Calandros, yes.

Agreed. Bought one there a few years ago and it was a sloppy mess

Ambrosia in general is overrated imo

This, my sister has bought several things from here including my niece's wedding cake and grooms cake. Outstanding
