In just three months, nearly 300,000 Black women left the U.S. labor force. Their labor force participation rate has now dropped below that of Latinas for the first time in over a year. And more than 518,000 Black women still haven’t returned to the labor force since the pandemic began, leaving their real unemployment rate just above 10 percent.

This isn’t a coincidence. It’s the result of federal policy choices — most immediately, sweeping job cuts across public-sector agencies where Black women have long held the strongest foothold in middle-class employment.

Agencies like the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services have seen dramatic reductions in staff — up to 50 percent in some cases. These are not just institutional losses. They represent the disappearance of stable, often well-paying jobs that historically provided economic security to Black women and the families they support.

But why? Why is this particular demographic so eager to get a government job? Why are they not capable of being hired outside the gov?

Sounds like NASA is in danger of not being able to math our way to the moon now.

It seems like only the government wants to hire them. Not sure why they're struggling in the real world. Seems like a personal problem to me.

Jack Spade: Damm it, man, I heard the People's Revolutionary Army was once a thousand strong. Now what happened?
Kalinga: They got government jobs.
Jack Spade: What?
Kalinga: You know that government office on 25th Street?
Jack Spade: Yeah?
Kalinga: We went down to take it over... but they were hiring that day. The brothers walked in with guns. Came out with jobs. The brothers weren't mad anymore. Yes, Whitey is something else.

Translation: They've gotten their jobs through vile, unconstitutional and racist DEI/Affirmative Action programs.

So, now, the so-called "most educated" demographic will have to go into the public sector (i.e., the REAL WORLD) and compete on the basis of their skills and merit rather than being handed government jobs and promotions strictly on the basis of their skin color and genitals.

Or they were required to show up to work to stay employed.

The bigger question, though, is why have they removed themselves from the workforce? That means that they are no longer looking for work, not just that they were laid off.

I'm guessing that they got a severance and these statistics were complied while they were living off the severance.

But why? Why is this particular demographic so eager to get a government job?

Because the overwhelming majority of them have useless degrees and many of those degrees are from historically black universities which are completely useless. Private sector entities see that shite for what it is. But the government treats a degree from Southern the same as a degree from Harvard.
